Yesterday we had an SFRT Squad Nigth. At some point, one of my pilot went high in a C47 circling over the field while waititng for us to clear the M16's below. He then droped the troops.

As most of you know, troops are invisible when droped from high, it's a known bug. I want to appologyze for this.

In SFRT we have people who have time to play only for Squad Nights and they are not really aware of this BBS and some known bugs.

To make sure it will not happen again, I posted this bug on our SFRT mail list. We select our pilots not on their skills but on their behavior and attitude. Acting like gentlemen are our primary mission.

SFRT is sorry for this field capture, it should not happen again.

thx for understanding, see you up there

Salute to Red Dragons Rocket/Redwind who gave me a fun dogfight in their F4U-D

Santa/ Wolf, can't wait to meet you again

Frenchy, I'm glad to fly alongside you and the rest of SFRT. Your post affirms what a great bunch you are. I've seen the results of some of those halo drops that have been going on once in a while. Mostly occuring over the high fields near the HQ. I hope this bug gets fixed, because it's no fun for anyone who's at the wrong end of this. <S> to SFRT, and see you up later!

Frenchy: your squad is a very honorable one. It warms me to see that this community has class squads.

I probably as a little hard in my criticism yesterday and it was in no way directed at your squad, at least not intentionally. Spivey made it sound as if they were exploiting a known bug, but it seems it was just coincidence.

Hope to meet you in the skies - that fight yesterday was awesome! Later on, I am quite sure I met you again - I approached your 6 in my 109 - then suddenly I see you go a wee bit up. I think little up it. Hm, we're closing awfully fast, I wonder...EEEEEK HO HO DIVE DIVE DIVE!

How the hell you managed to turn that baby around that quickly I don't know.

<S! to SFRT for being a class act with nice people!

hiya Frenchy:

thanks for the update on what had happened, i know there are some that like to take advantage of a bug. but at no time did i thing you or anybody in your squad would do it knowingly. look forward to seeing you in the skies again.

Yes that was a fun fight Santa, you attacked me from higher, I could reverse the situation and get into ur 6. While u were doing those scisors I was pulling an evil grin :' You are mine Santa...gnac gnac gnac'

Then I followed you over that little hill, thinking "the hill trick will not work". On the other side of the hill I found myself nose to nose with a VH and 4 M16. I remember thinking something like :"... D'OH!..."

When I pulled away I lost my elevator and my wingman. You came back into my 6 while I was trying to run and u blasted me out of the sky while i was screaming of fear

I had a blast   (Litterally)

Nothing to 'break down the walls' like good sportsmanship. The many differences we see in  this world-wide culture mixing of internet communication all come down to simple courtesy.I and many others appreciate
that chivalry is indeed not yet dead.

The other night Wolf and I had a 2 vs 2 duel (8k guns cold) with Frenchy and Monger.  Those 2 fights were among the best I've ever had as far as pure ACM and tactics.  The first fight Wolf and I were able to squeak away with a victory, but in the second fight the SFRT performed a brilliant weave on the merge that left me at the top of a zoom with literally no one to shoot at.  Before I knew it Wolf was down.  It was then just a matter of time, as Frenchy wisely extended to a co alt position while Monger drew me much lower than I wanted to go.  I knew that I had to disable at least 1 of their fighters quickly, otherwise I would certainly lose.  Unfortunately Monger's 205 easily evaded my p51s all or nothing guns pass, which left me stalling for alt at the top of a zoom when Frenchy reappeared.  The fight ended rather quickly after that with the p51's infamous paper rudder seperating from my plane under the pressure from 8 50s.

The real difference between the two fights was the quick weave, that totally threw Wolf and I for a loop.  In the first fight we were able to prevail in the end because Wolf had managed to draw both Frenchy and Monger lower than my p51.  I was then able to set up for a guns pass on Frenchy that would have been nearly impossible to evade.  (He ALMOST got away too.   )  I was just fortunate 6 50s sure do a mean job on rudders at 200 yds.

Another big <S!> from the TBIRDS SFRT.

All I can say is that Frenchy and his group are a helluva squad with some of the best pilots around. <G> Y'all have real class when it comes to AH.

My favorite capture was last nite, A30,,VMF-323 capping (5 of us)..last count I had (before eloquently stalling my bird) was 41 kills vulching fighters and vehicles, in a span of 4 min., while a Knit M3 (sorry, forget who to give credit to) snuck in under the tanks and M16's to capture 30...then ack pops up and finishes the vulching for us!
