I know that nopoop has one of these babies, as do I ($50). You can also get a gorgeous P-38L too, which I also received as a gift ($60 retail). Manufactured by 21st Century Toys, marketed under the "Ultimate Soldier" line.

They have all manner of vehicles, armor and figures too. Quite remarkable.

They've been out for a while but I wasn't that impressed with them. Would rather spend the $$$$ on an Armour 1:48 die-cast.

Thanks, nice looking planes. And for exquisite collectibles, hard to beat the 1/72 Matchbox Collectibles National Aviation Hall of Fame: Spit, Hellcat, Corsair, P-51, P-38, P-40. More dazzling metal from China.

I have several of those, quite nice for very little money.

If you really want to see some awesome diecast aircraft, visit a Franklin Mint store, or visit their website. Expensive, but beautiful.

Here's an example of a 1/48 scale P-51D signed by ace Bud Anderson. $90 retail each. Also shown is an F-86E. Superb detail.

Yeah, the landing gear and doors fold closed. The photographer clearly didn't extend the nose gear to it's forward stop.

The P-38L is an enormous model with a 29 inch wingspan. When I received it, I had trouble finding a place to display it.

I believe Franklin mint bought Armour Models and that is what you see in thier catalogue these days. OF course at much higher prices than when they were Armour....

I stand corrected. I was thinking of another series that was about 1:32 to 1:48 scale. They had potential but they blew it on the detail, like repeating port side personal markings on starboard side. Toys R Us had a bunch of these 1:18's, I may have to go back and look at them again. I still like my GI Joe P-40 better!
