Credit Where Credit Is Due!
« on: August 10, 2003, 10:37:54 AM »
Last night while furballing between a base and a cv(imagine that), a P-40 was hookin it up in the weeds....that's not a common occurence.

This P-40 fought....didn't matter if it was a Spit or an FM2, he turned and burned. I got hooked up on him a couple of times flyin a SpitV....was not easy to reel him in.

The pilot was Macarov9....SALUTE to you sir for havin some stones!

It's Makarov9.  Anyone that flies the P-40 is OK in my book.  And.. to be honest, you have no choice but to fight in it;)

The P-40E is fun, though I prefer the F4F-4 (not FM2.)

I remember tangling with you in a P-40 on Saturday and chasing your Seafire around.  It was no easy task and what helped was that there was a lot to watch out for and dodge.  Check player v player stats between us.  ;-)  Sounds as though you were encountering a few P-40s that day.  I was surprised to see Mak out there flying a P-40 as well and I'd be afraid of him no matter what he flies.  Mini D is right though, often there isn't much choice of whether to engage or run when flying one.

PERK IT!!!

Mak is one of our better pilots that's for sure.  He is a great one to wing with, or even better to have on your wing.  I remember him saving my butt a few times in squad ops.  Once he latches on to someone he won't let go.

Glad to see him get the credit he is due.

makarov9 is a great pilot. I ran into him the other night when he was in his yak. I always think of him when I see a yak around. He's a great yak driver.

Mak has been a great addition to our squad since July 2001. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him at the 2002 con and found him to be a terrific fellow.

Wow...talk about getting a swell head. Thanks for all the compliments guys. I've been around since beta but recently took a few months of time off. I'm just getting back into AH and enjoying it again.

Being a part of the Mongrels has enhanced my AH enjoyment two-fold. Great bunch of guys.

Rude, you are a damn hard target to nail. I tried my best but no go. I was having a blast  that night in the P-40E tangling with you and the others off the CV.

hblair, those were some great fights the other night. !

p40 is a good plane (especialy with it's flaps) ... but the 109 g-6 has a higher eny .. the f4u-1 ... etc... i see your point eny is too low IMHO

And (S) to p40 pilots .. yer almost as cool as jug/p38 jocks :p ... almost
