Wow, just watched the film "Auto Focus", the story of Bob Crane's rise and fall in Hollywood.

I don't know whether to be jealous of all the sex he got, or be sad because of how it ruined his career and his life. I think I'll be both. :)

That film also strengthens my conviction that Willem DaFoe(playing John Carpenter) is one of the greatest American actors since Marlon Brando.

Brando is highly overrated, IMHO.

William Dafoe is my favorite actor too. Loved him since "To Live in Die in LA"

Bob Crane is/was one of my best friend's uncle :)  Tom looks just like him in the face too.  I always wondered if maybe Tom was really his son (before Bob got famous) and got put up for adoption...

Defoe is a good actor and Brando was highly overated.

I've never really been able to watch Hogan's heros either since the story of Bob Crane was released.

Though... the story of the guy that played Commander Klink was somewhat better.  He was Jewish and would only play Klink if the writers promissed that nothing Klink ever did was successfull and if he was only portrayed as a bumbling idiot.

Werner Klemperer was Jewish? I had no idea. I know his Father or Uncle was leader of the L.A. Philharmonic for years and they both had strong Anti-Nazi beliefs. Did you ever think what the hotel's were wondering when they saw Bob Crane lugging all that old lighting and camera equiptment around to his room? If the Digital Camcorder had been invented then, no telling what would be floating around the internet. Is it time for my close-up Bob?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
