May I remind you that it was you who said '...might be a few decent countries over there.

And I couldn't agree more with you. lovely when you're arguing my point for me :).

You guys have released several World Domination Plan beta's. None of them ever go gold, though. They all fail miserably and go back for testing. On the other hand, the U.S.A. beta launched, it went gold than continued on to be a best seller. It's still the hottest game out there. You should learn from it.

Well, since the US is but a baby dirtying its diapers still, I shall take the role of the loving older brother and explain a wee bit of how the world works.

First, the world might not be too big a place, but there's a thing called time. To say time is huge would be wrong. to say it's small or in the middle would be quite stupid too. We've worked this way out of measuring according to our own prejudiced and limited understanding. How time applies to empires is well described in a book called 'The rise and fall of empires' - cannot recall the author. Anyhow, since time is this huge but not huge undefinable real thing, the book basically states that all great empires ever to ahve existed have eventually, given enough time, succumbed. Some lasted for thousands of years - the US empire is but some 100 years old.

Since you're not a software developer either, I feel I must inform you that due to a bug in the OS (or, as God calls it, a 'feature', all World Domination Plans, whether in beta or gone gold have a basic trial period. Once it goes out, out goes the empire - whether you like it or not.

Enjoy your stay. Won't be long before you or your grandchildren will have to wear Danish collars.

:D

You need to stay off the crack, and improve your English comprehension.  Your quote, even if taken in the context you meant it, still completely proves my point.  If it proves yours also, then I apologize.  I didn't know you were arguing that Europe has a distinct lack of sense or nads.

Hold on to your dream of world domination, though.  Every child must have it's fantasies.  I look forward to the day we annex Denmark, and you're cleaning my house for a living.

Sorry he lived a long, long time ago.  You would have to violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics in order to field him as a candidate.

And as fo invading, the last time the USA added sovereign territory was just over 100 years ago.

er I hate to point this out but a travel firm selling tours to Americans might not be the best straw to grasp when presenting the argument about how much Americans are needed - old Neil there might want your money but that's about it.

However here is there website...

Looks slightly tacky and in very poor taste and more than a bit of a rip-off...but I'm just a local feel free to make use of Mr Wootton services if you must.

CSM is a travel agency now?  Are you sure English is your primary language?

Let us look at it, shall we? The quote is:
If they'd stop sitting on the side lines crying about how horrible the US makes their lives, there might be a few decent countries over there.

Now, my 'English comprehension' - or should that be "understanding of the English language"? focuses on the use of the following structure:

"if......there might be ", in other words, if a certain criterion is fulfilled, then the result might be a few decent countries over there.

While there's not enough information (your fault) in the sentence to deduct whether there would be any decent countries prior to this announcement or not, the text suggests, or can be interpreted as suggesting that there is not. I'd phrased it 'if they'd stop sitting on the side lines crying about how horrible the US makes their lives, then it is possible that a few countries over there could turn into decent ones.'. Less ambiguity, easier to parse.

Fine and dandy, let's move on. I'll stay off the crack pipe if you stay off the gay porn.

Your next post in response to my 'arguing my point for me' response is:

Last count, "a few" hardly constituted quorum.

This one taxes someone who was schooled on English, not American English. "Last count", for instance, is syntactically acceptable but given the context and followed by "a few hardly constituted quorum" it's unnecessary contrived.

Quorum is defined as:
quorum
n : a gathering of members of an organization large enough to      transact business

Alrighty, so you first suggest there isn't any decent countries 'over there' (although you can of course due to the lack of informational value of your original post claim that there indeed were decent countries before your post).

Then, you say that there are, but only a few of them. Hm, either there are or there are not. To further confuse matters, you suggest that for there to be any, even if there are a few, they must be enough for a gathering of members of an organisation large enough to transact business. So it's not enough for there to be one or more; they must meet a second criterion. Whether this criterion has anything to do with being decent or not is not known.

So I am wondering, my beloved American pet, if you are smoking the same sh|t as I am.

Alas, 'tis easy to blame the poor reader for his or her lack of comprehension. Mayhap, however, the guilt should be shared with the author who lingers and plays with obtuse and unclear language, defining some but not enough all while failing utterly to provide a thread of commonality between the various posts.

Hold on to your dream of world domination, though. Every child must have it's fantasies. I look forward to the day we annex Denmark, and you're cleaning my house for a living.

Ah, my gullible child - little do you understand that this scenario is part of our manipulation of the world. You see, soon after Danes take over the house chores in US homes, there'll be a baby boom. And Americans shall not be the fathers of those children.

Now I must go to the loo. A loo, I might add, that is older than your country. Toodlepipski.

Oh, pick my post apart too. I suffer from insomnia and need to find a way to pass time.

Cheers Martlet :)

I'm amazed that you actually want to come over at all....won't you feel a little out of place?

An opinion used to refute a fact.  It still remains an opinion.  Threatening you with physical violence would be nuts, but I'm not surprised you made that stretch.  I'd hardly fly to England just to knock the crap out of you.

Of course I'd feel out of place.  Being in another country, I WOULD be out of place.  Glad I could spell that out for you.

An idea stolen from the Planet of the Apes saga.

Hollywood gets all the good ideas.

anyway i noted that a lot of people from ME came to our country this year..

basicaly, if i will see less drunk amercan tourists on our streets ( you will identify them, because they have cup of beer all the time in their hand, they walk with it all the time every where... dont know why..) and more people from other countries, its great, we will have less noisy drunk dweebs out there (specialy after midnight, while they are rtb from pubs)

McGroin, and who do you think inspired Hollywood?

It's all coming together now.
