Sure...lots and lots of pit bulls.  That is all you will find here...don't get me started on that subject.

No lab breeders here that I am aware of.

- Not applicable to dogs or cats arriving directly from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or Jamaica

Rabies vaccination history, showing at least two rabies vaccinations,  and that all rabies vaccinations have been given by a licensed veterinarian, We can do this and are in accord with all of these requirements.

The animal:

Upon attaining / after the age of three months, has received a rabies vaccination; We can do thisAND

Received a second rabies vaccine 6-12 months following the first rabies vaccination; THIS IS A PROBLEM. She's only three months old AND

There have been no significant lapses in vaccinations; AND
The most recent vaccination was given at least 30 days, and not more than 12 months prior to arrival in Bermuda. We can do this

**Note: - Not applicable to dogs or cats arriving directly from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or Jamaica

Dogs and cats under age 10 months, <-- THIS IS A PROBLEM.  and dogs and cats of any age that have received only a single rabies vaccination, do not qualify for entry into Bermuda.

Upon re-reading, I think you are right. We DO have a problem. Time for you to go bribe somebody.  :D We can give her two shots, but it's going to take a while to make her 10 months old.

Well, I've been trying all day to get this clarified by the government department responsible.  All two of them have been "away from their desks" all day...according to their voice-mail messages.

Strange, because it is raining...not good golf weather at all.

Still no word from these yahoos.

I really tore a strip off the receptionist this morning and asked her whether or not the head-honcho was on vacation or something because he doesn't seem to want to return my 5 messages from yesterday.

She "promised" me that she would ensure the guy gets back to me today.

Hate to say it but I don't think this is going to happen.  I have a feeling he is going to be a typical civil servant and will simply defer to the legislation.  It is probably just going to be a venting exercise for me.

I have e-mailed Jason and let him know about the problem.

Real glad we decided to surprise the kids and didn't show them the pics.

Sorry for wasting your time man...I appreciate the help you tried to give.

Ah, too bad Curval.

Well, you can always wait another year until Chief and Kate are bred and then I'll start the pup for you and train it until it's 10 months. So, two years from now you're there.

Just a slight additional charge.........

;)

Well my friend, maybe for our second dog.  :)

It just won't be a home until there are four paws pattering about amongst the six feet of our kids.

Hmmm...I just called a woman who imports pups from the UK.

The cost to do this through her (chocolate brown lab pup) will be $2,000 in my hands.  That is with crate shots duty etc etc all included.

Gee...slight difference to the $800 I estimated for the pup through your buddy..once all expenses were settled.

I think the markup on the cost must be about 100%.  Typical for this frigging island.

Curval,

How is she going to do it? Tranship the dog through the UK? I think that's going to be dicey as well. Did she tell what her plan is? If she's tripped to a way, maybe we can do it too. We have friends in the UK, both of us, I think.

OTOH.... the UK lady I bought my English Kate from has a litter due in about 3 weeks. She's pretty particular about where/when/who/how her pups go overseas but you never know. She does look for her dogs to go to "gunning" homes but if she has a big litter she might. You never know. These pups will be blacks and yellows. You might be able to charm her. Heck, I did... and I'm no charmer. ;)

Just a note.. she wouldn't let me go get Kate until she was 5 months old. Thought the air travel would be to stressful before that.

How did you get that black horse to sit like that?

BTW, Brittany's are the best breed.

Brittanies are absolutely the best breed for keeping your feet warm while you are watching TV.

But that's pretty much their pinnacle.

J/K String...  I even know one or two of them that hunt.  ;)
