While there are certainly oportunities in the AH flight model, gunnery model damage model, ect....for the most part they are a only needing slight improvement, or are solid. The best that can be said is that what weaknesses there are are small and infrequent enough so they usually do not detract from gameplay too much.
What I hope AH2 TOD brings is a more realism in the tactics and choices made by the players. One of the big issues with AH as it is now is that you can have all the flight models and damage models you want, but:
--the guy you just shot down in your F4F is bound to re-up from the base not 2 miles from you in an LA7, chase you down and kill you.
The same guy is very likely to straif an enemy field with ack all over the place, and dozzens of enemy fighters ust to get a few vulch kills....players right now dive into situations that no fool in their life would jump into in the real word.
Damaged planes are currently MORE likely to dive into unsafe areas, because they know they cannot make it back to base (if they care at all about that)...and there is not enough difference beteen death and ditch.capture.
Hopefully TOD will help to minimize these issues so that most people care about dying. Right now the only people who care about dying are dirving 262's
