Bah, the fun part of jets isn't the dogfighting, it's the screaming-down the canyons evasion, the panicked evasives and dive to the deck as your flight gets lit up by radar, the frantic in-flight laser painting of the target for your GBUs and then the stealthy egress in your shot-up aircraft, running into and shooting down a flight of Hinds on the way.. in short, DID's EF2000.

No, the AH engine isn't right for a jet sim. They're different worlds altogether. But it's true that a massively multiplayer jet sim in AH-style could be great fun, just not with the kind of mostly-mindless action seen in the MA of AH.

I am with Juzz on this one! As for HTC doing a Jetsim, I am sure they could do it well.

However, they would have to probably quadruple in size to handle all the systems that go into modern jets. I mean, look how much detail we get into with just ballistics of the guns in the game. Can you imagine all the threads like `That RADAR Mode isn't correct, it should...' and so on.

For HTC to make money off this current engine, I think if they just modeled the guns era only (WW1 to Korea) they could do quite well...and who is to say that isn't what they are thinking. I am just looking forward to the release of build 1.05 and all the planes they are gonna start cranking out afterward

I prefer WWII prop planes any day....

BUT, if there was a good sim that had very good models of the Hawker Hunter, English Electric Lighting and Blackburn Buccanneer then I would be ecstatic!    (not talking about crappy MS planes here!)  These three planes are three of my favourite all time jets!

Im sure they could make a really good one. They would have to really upgrade the scale of their business otherwise AH may suffer.

Mmmm... Lightning and Buccaneer. Now that would be worth doing.   Never seen either of those modelled anywhere, or the Jaguar for that matter.

How about adding the Avro Vulcan or any of the other V-bombers?

Do you really think that HTC would devote a second to a jet sim? Nope. You know why? Because their interest lay in WWII, why else would they create AH? If they were interested in recreating WWI, we'd have something else. Korea, Vietnam, all would be something else. No, we have Aces High a WWII prop simulation and that's the direction HTC has been and will keep going until they decide it's feasible to build something else. That will likely be 2 years down the road and will definitely not be some "hey anyone can do this" jet sim. 50NM out, fire an AIM-54C. Ouch, I almost broke a sweat moving my finger to that button.

Man you guys are unimaginative    50's-60's jets, baby!  Mirages!  MiGs!  Huns!  Thuds!  Buccaneers!  Starfighters!  Missiles???  Worthless! (Sorta like WB .50s)
I'm thinkin you could create an interesting "LoTech" jet sim if you kept it in the early jet age.

Anyone tried A-10Cuba?  Pretty nice flight modeling, the only boxed sim I've played that approached the quality of AH or WB FM.

But...probably be better to get the Hurricane and Wildcat modeled before the MiG-15, eh?

Actually missile combat can be quite fun and difficult, you dont tard yer bellybutton in head on at 10k or higher and just let loose and then chaff and flair your self crazy, you get a idea where yer target is and then ya scream down low and when yer about 20 miles out you pop out of NOE and let one rip and then hit the dirt again, hopefully you you will stay below his radar's LOS and your missle will find the target before your target realizes where you are.  It can be as knuckle whitening as any gun dogfight.  It is also fun to try to come in at 500kts and try to drop bombs on something form 500 feet while ack is shooting at you, and tying to stay low enogh to aviod sams, you guys are so narrow minded, you just think it would be some kind of long range missle crap, no wonder you dont like modern combat, you have no idea how it works.  I has such a deeper immersion than ww2 because you have to work together and think about alot more things, I like the WW2 stuff but like alot of people Im starving for a jet sim thats worth a crap.

No, I know exactly how modern day jet fighting works. Unless it's guns only, I don't find it fun at all. Avoiding sams? You have got to be kidding me. Drop some chaff or flares and turn a little, that's the way most games work these days and you're clear. Narrow minded? Nope. HTC created WB then went on to create AH. Oddly enough both are what era air combat based games? WWII, that's right. I wouldn't be here if it weren't WWII or WWI. You are preaching to the wrong guys if you want a jet game.

Korea.

Mixed jet A/C with props as well, and no missiles.

The person(s) that do this will have a big market IMO.
