The Ayes of Texas Are Upon II
« on: August 24, 2003, 01:09:05 AM »
Okay, all you corporate type Aces High players all around the world.  Consider the hard working AH crew down in Texas toiling away keeping us happy with the present setup as we eagerly await the sequel.

Think you can predict the Aces High II exact release date?  How about the time?

Lessee, third quarter ends Sept. 30.  Texas is on ... Central Daylight Time?  Yeah, think so.  Key dates:  Monday Sept 1 Labor Day, Tuesday Sept 23 autumn begins, Friday Sept 26 Rosh Hashanan begins.

Everybody back to school, back to work, summer over ... hmmmm, when to release Aces High II?

Not the last partial week of September -- too much like rushing to meet deadline.  Would have only Monday and Tuesday Sept. 29/30 before fourth quarter begins.

Not the first week of September -- too much Labor Day and end of vacation transition.

Not the second week of September -- might as well take time and doublecheck everything.  However, maybe a limited beta Tuesday Sept. 9?

Nor the third week -- such a great time to triplecheck everything.

Ah, the fourth week, last full week of the third quarter.  But not Monday, right after the weekend.  And considering different time zones all around the world, not Friday either.

Need a good midweek release so staff can be fresh from one weekend and not too squeezed by the next, and downloads can be spaced out enough for max weekend play.

Need a good local Texas time release so can have full staff on hand for all the debut details.

Therefore, Aces High II will be released (fanfare) on the first day of autumn, Tuesday Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. Texas time.

The ayes of Texas (and everywhere else) are upon II!

2Hawks, you sure you're referring to 2003?  U.S. Naval Observatory has this year's autumnal equinox as Sept. 23 at 6:47 a.m. EDT (11:47 a.m. GMT).

So I'll revise my prediction to AH II being released Tuesday Sept. 23 at 5:47 a.m. CDT when autumn begins in Texas.
