The only difference it makes is if you want to GO there (and several missions were launched recently).

for viewing purposes, the two planets are alligned every couple of years and you won't see any difference. not even with HST.

There must have been shortage of news latly so the news eddition had to show either this or some people being killed in africa again.

Do you think men will ever go to Mars?  What would it be, a two year voyage.  One year there, and one year back.  

I asked my brother one time how big a Mars rocket would have to be, if launched in the fashion of the Apollo moon rockets.  He said, about the size of the Empire State Building.

So that idea is out.

Gotta be done some other way, far as propulsion goes.  Then there's the human factor.  Two years cooped up in a reatively small space.  Can't be done without suspended animation of some sort.  :D
