Animal: I agree with you that for the purpose of VFR flying and practicing maneuvers with Visual references the game is pretty much worthless, mostly because of views and lack of feel.
However, if you're fortunate enough to live in a represented area, there is free or not so free scenery you can download.
As I haven't started instrument training yet(still working on my PPL), I can't tell how accurate FS is in that aspect.

I'm enjoying FS2004 a lot - but very frequently my CH Hotas will simply stop working properly. Either I will have no control input at all - or max control deflection snaps back to no deflection  - or control surfaces that have a mind of their own.

Anyone else have this problem ?  Solutions ?

I wonder how many years it will take for MS to fix rudder modelling. In MSFS reguired rudder imput to reach coordinated turn depends on bank angle.:rolleyes: Very anoying.

There is  a way to look over the cockpit panels and it has a simliar viewstystem as ah, the problem is, when you shift sideways or "raise the seat"  Some actual chunks of the cockpit are missing.
