kanttori: Great job on Finland in the Fall!
« on: September 01, 2003, 09:02:32 AM »
Now we have Summer, fall and winter in Finland, very cool.

Perhaps we should do a Finland set-up that goes:
Friday - Sunday = summer
Monday & Tuesday = fall
Wednesday & Thursday = winter

A big Salute to Squirrel who made these autumn ground textures! He's an tile artist!;)

Your idea is very good and after AH II release we update all the FinRus maps (skins, terrains, objects etc.) with high resolution bitmaps. We are releasing the FinRus Spring version, too (actuallyFinRus winter update is coming soon to HTC's download page).

But now we have Camo's "Murmansk" under work and after it we start our main project: "The Gulf of Finland".

Murmansk map is Lapland War between Germany and Russia and the map's scale is about 1:1.5. The Gulf of Finland map's scale is becoming 1:1 and we are going to built all the airbases as individual and natural looking they were 60 years ago using aerial photos, airfield maps etc.

Here's one good IL2 skin by Dux, it's coming both Murmansk and Winter FinRus (update) maps:

By the way, here are the updated Okinawa's  Carrier and Fleet by Dux. We release the update in CT after Operation Iceberg is over:

I am very pleased that we Finns (me and Camo) can make these terrains and updates with the best artists I know: Squirrel, Dux and Ramzey!:D

And big thanks to Kweassa and Brady, too!;)

You're right, LtMagee, I have though about it when I have seen this milkrunning week in CT!

I'm taking couple of spawn points away: At the first from A66 to Finnish HQ, it's the worst one. As you can see, Russian HQ don't have any spawns and I just forget to take it away from Finnish HQ when I made this map... :(

I can add couple of mannable acks both fields and to towns, that is no problem. I am making all the repairs after AH II, because I must check what it is bringing to us!

But write comments, hint and tips here, I pay regard to everything. Also from Okinawa map!!;)

At first I didnt really care for the Fin-Rus set ups but its is now one of my favorites. Nice work Kanttoria and co.  <>. Nice skins Dux. Thanks for the color Squirrel.

Is there a way to place mannable .50 and or 20 mm gun positions? Is it even possible?

maybe you could "bury"  some destroyers to be able to use the 20mms? unless those guns can somehow be "clipped" off the ships as a stand alone object?

if that works, give us some manable 5" tiger busters and flak stations around the bases

Hmmm . . . .twin .50s, 20mm and 40mm from the PT boats?  Canm rockets from the Halftrack be far behind?

Ixnay on the ivefay inch ungay.  Those are not separate units that can be strafed to death are they?  The PT boats guns, however, can be strafed.

He can't do that Sakai it'll crash the editor. What Kan could do is make the ship at port manable gun positions.. er that could be a lil' too much fire power ;)
