frame rate benchmark
« on: September 21, 2000, 03:58:00 PM »
Hi, guys

I want to do some changes in Aces High benchmark site and I'd apreciate any suggestion. Also, I hope this helps having more feedback from you ;-) After all there's only a few records there and we haven't received an update since july :-(

Anyway, I am thinking about this:

1. creating different version of tables to VSYNC ON and VSYNC OFF

2. a section with screenshots using different video cards and settings. I have some from vila (voodoo 5 with different FSAA settings)

3. links to forum threads with some relevant information on benchmarking and to other useful sites.

4. I am open to new ideas and partnerships (e. g. benchmarking not only frame rate)

Again, I really want some suggestions - even if it's related to protocol, of course. Feel free to post it here or send it to my email (fradim@mail.com).

PS: As there's a Warbirds version of this site, I have posted a similar thread at agw. Sorry for any inconvenience

 fradim, it would be nice if you posted a url to your site for those of us who have not seen it.

 As I do not know the protocol, my suggestion may be already implemented.
 Before taking a benchmark, blow a fuel dump or two so that there is smoke present in the picture. Then wait until the target drones are in certain position (2 of them visible in  the front view?)

Right, there is a link on the HTC "Links" page: http://www.grandeavenida.com/fps/index.cfm?Game=2

Yo Fradim,

My 2 cents would be:

-A conection benchmark;
-A litle more "rookie oriented" tech talk

Great page, however when I attempted to enter my AH benchmark, the form seemed to be for Warbirds?

THANKS, miko :-) Damn, I have really fogotten to inform address here!

About protocol: it´s not so important to make atempts to lower frame rate but to define one that we can easily  in any circumstance - I am afraid that this change (smoke) might present different results ...

yowser,
aces high form is at: http://www.grandeavenida.com/fps/AH_EntryForm.cfm?Computer=2

You´ve probably got confused by the fact that:
1. I´ve not changed banner at top of page - I´ll do it in this next version;
2. I have forgoten to rename "Warbirds ID:" field to "aces high" field;

But everything else was done with aces high in mind ;-)
