I understand the reasoning

behind the settings in the Trainig arena.. HOwever it does no  good for myself or anybody to practice or work on anything in TA if they can't  they can't see the results of dive bombing, straffing or even dog fighting. Doesn't matter whether friend or foe.. if hitting an object (plane, ship or GV) granted one gets the sprites BUT how does one know whether the hit is a killer or a wound?
Again, I understand why TA went to such a high lethality, I just wonder if it in fact is helping!

BTW.. remember this...

Just an idea for the TA what about spliting the lethality/hard ness setup ... leave the bishops as they are and set the rooks and knights to MA settings ... (probely wont  work though)

TA is not the ideal place for bombing practise. Offline or hosting your own H2H session is. That puts those same controls squarely in your hands to set as you choose.

TA is for teaching people the basics without them having to worry about constantly being vulched off the runway.

Viewed in that light the TA settings have been a huge success.

i think the TA is better for MA practice because of the ping lantency of it . h2h is too varied in that respect .

How bout a new map every so often in TA, like some of the awesome CT/Historical maps,
not that i dont like Baltic, one of my fav's

...or what about a map made just for TA, with drones flyin around, gunnery ranges, bombing ranges, fun things, like tunnels and stuff for stunt flying, etc etc. and a MOTD that shows all the basic key commands

If you let people kill others in the TA it will turn back to vulchland in a matter of seconds... or fractions thereof.
You get the basics on everything and you can move to the DA if you want to fight with real lethality settings.

:) Yikes I made a level headed comment about the TA and didn't use my shovel once :)

A changing map for the TA is not really a necessity because there are normally only so many types of folks that use it. IE.,
1) Newby's who are getting a first look at a new game and arena. For them it's more of a getting used to flying and understanding maps, and all the rest that goes with learning a new game.
2) Returnee's who have experience both in the MA and CT arena but want to check out some new plane, work on tactics or fix some other problem.
3) Squads who come in to work on strategic objectives and tactical fighting.

All of these folks are not really worried about a specific arena. If you compare it to the DA it was put there for a specific purpose and not the general day to day arena play that we find in the other arenas.
