I can't imagine there would be anything from keeping Squadmates from flying TOGETHER after theyhave completed Training.

Batz thnx for clarifying it a bit, I see what you mean now. If we remove the ability for someone to get into the arena without doing training and as they perform a Tk they are sent back there sounds like a pretty clever solution.

Lets hope it works.

I guess in a way the squad system is unecessary due to all tasks being sent out from the high command (server) :). I guess flying together in a mission would give ample feeling of flying 'together as a group'.

for now i guess im pretty satisfied they are aware of the concerns and must have developed their best idea to counter it. Especially as its their new baby. Im sure they wont accept people delibberately trying to spoil it and in effect endangering their products success. Guess ill wait and see.

batz thnx for the reply, you should be on HTC staff ;) hehe
thnx others who posted ramzey, squire etc

Well,  If there is nothing that prevents guys and gals from flying together as a team  (aka some mission limitation)....then why cant there be some sort of nose art/squadron patch that can be shown with people who like to fly together???

Most of the squadrons have a bit of history and nostalgia associated with them.  I for one fly with my squadron and if it were to "go away" then the game would be much less fun.  In addition our squad has a bit of history associated with it.  Our patch comes from one of our members, Hawk1, who is a 74 year old fighter pilot.  That patch was from his squadron back in Vietnam when he was the commander of the TIGER COMMANDOS.

I dont know but it would be really nice if there was a way to do this...shouldnt be that hard right?

:)

Well as said above the quote from that interview says:

Quote
The Squad format of the main arena won’t be a part of ToD.

Squad Format ... it could very well mean no squads or a different typ of "format". But ToD squad scores would be meaningless as each individual advances on his own merit.

Hopefully in the arena kill messages will be turned off like in most events. Being in a "ToD Squad" wont matter to 99% of the rest of us. The will be no "You have been killed by YoYo of YoYo squad". Nose art isnt even noticeable to other players so who cares.

Like events most folks dont fly under their main squad but they still fly together etc. I imagine that would be the same in ToD. Nothings to stop a "squad of guys" from flying together.

I care.

I could care less about the scores.  If there are going to be kill messages then I would like to see them show that some yoyo of such yoyo squad did so.

I dunno.....I guess I am old fashioned and like the tradition and the formality of having a squadron...not just a bunch of guys hanging out on TOD missions.  Just me.
