HO like a PRO!
« on: August 11, 2000, 07:43:00 AM »
Last night was the first time I got some quality airtime after my pledge to HO like a PRO.

Mt first attempt at HO'ing was against a B-26, expertly flown and gunned by shotter. I perched myself onto his 11:00 co-alt, about D1.6 in front of him. Swinging my Typhoon into a right-handed bank, I came up into a fast HO about 500yds in front. I missed with my first pass, and when I repeated, he shot me down! <S> Shotter!

Finally, after running into three P-51's of the 13th TAS, I was able, after a fun turnfight(I was in my trusty SpitIX on this sortie), to get into a perfect HO situation with Beemer. True to my pledge, I sprayed faster and with more accuracy than Ron Jeremy on viagra.

I was rewarded by watching Beemer's wing fall off as he went streaking by. I savored the moment, revelling in my new found skill. I sat back in my seat, and smiled a smug, "Stiglr-esque" smile...until my wingless Spitfire plowed into the ground.

Beemer had scored hits as well, you see.

Alas, running into three more 13th TAS Mustangs later that night, I was promptly handed my butt before I could manuever into an advantageous HO position.

I will continue to hone my HO skills, and maybe even post a film or two.

banana I rarely fly a Tiffie but for some reason I decided to give it a try last night.

I was on the deck 300+ when I realize I'm hopelessly outnumbered, something like 8vs1.  Several high runstangs so no chance of running.

I remembered what you had said about HOing this tour and I decided to see how many I could get.  I found a low spit and we both went for the HO, I used a lot of rudder and lit him up at less than 200.  Without taking any damage my self I proceeded to fly up and away, while looking back I noticed no parts, no smoke, and the spit was flying normally!  I was thinking WTF then I suddenly lost a wing and rudder and had to bail fast as I was seeing the ground coming fast.  I’m in my chute looking around and I didn’t see a single plane closer than 7.0 except the spit fire around 5.0 away.   I was later told by a squad mate that the spitfire went down but this was at least 1 min to a minute and a half after we passed each other.

Moral of this story never HO with a lagged person like Maximus (he was the spit).

I almost made ya proud banana!

Hehe Mox

I wonder if we can get HTC to sponser a "HO like a PRO" night in AH every once in a while? Person with the most HO kills in that particular time frame wins a date with Hang's sister.

Hmm, does Maximus fly Rook? And did he fly a Hog from A17 tonight?   I met a hog there in my pony, had a slight alt advantage, but the guy didn't know toejam about ACM, so I placed myself on his butt, fired away and ZAP! He's off 90 degrees to the side, minus one wing and the engine, but still flying and trying to get behind me. After emptying my guns into him with no result, calling on channel 100 with no result and getting tired of the whole thing, I left, only to be killed by his countrymate in a high P47.

I'm rambling, but I just thought this sounded a lot like all the "Maximus" stories I've heard  .

You're not famous, you're infamous.

You're not feared, you're despised.

You're not lagging, you're almost not connected.

And, as far as some of us are concerned, your lagging seems most convenient; you lag when at 12 o c, but not when at 6 o c.

You're an ackstarring dweeb with few redeeming qualities.

Your ACM is laughable; even a decent HO seems to be a challenge to you.

Your tactics would made a piss ant proud, but only just.

Your maturity rivals that of a zygote, and in terms of intelligence, it has an edge on you.

The one area where you reign supreme, is in the area of dweebery. You have mastered this behavior and made an artform out of it.

If you were a painting, you'd been the result of a deluded monkey with a Hitler complex, trying to type a million letters.

I hope this clears any confusion on this issue.

Dude are you blind or do you have a memory problem? Only time I warp was when I had the Steelers game on Real Player, and I realized that's the problem and don't do that anymore.  I have never had a red or yellow beacon (cept for the times above), and nobody but a few whiners say I warp. If I warped, so would people around me. It would be  impossible for me to be dropping packets and not have everyone else warp a bit.  I did tracerts of beta.hitechcreations.com , and on all the hops I get a sub 150 Ping time.  That's twice as good as most 56kers.
