What the hell is so wrong about that picture? I always thought it was well done, in fact, it was used on this bbs exactly one year ago by someone else, and it was well received.

I guess even tributes can go out of style.

Nah rubbed me as odd too...NASCAR drivers are heros? I don't quite equate that with those who perished on a space shuttle or in the 9/11 attacks.

Don't get me wrong. Ordinarily that picture would have got a chuckle from me - it sums up all the cheap merchandising and worthless sentiment that seemed run riot for awhile not so long ago. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had already made a bumper sticker from it.

But as a serious tribute, it is out of place IMO.
