WIERD MOVIE!

I'm not really a Johny Depp fan, but he did an exeptional job playing a crazed out drug addicted sports writer from the early 70's :D

Yes, its a wierd and funny movie.

Watch it 2 or 3 times and you begin to notice things you didn't before... never gets boring either.

I have read the book 10 or 40 times, and I saw the movie once, but  I don't remember it - too much "mood setting" beforehand.

You have to read the book.  The movie cannot get into Hunter S. Thompson's mind in the same way.

One of my all time favourite books.

"We were somewhere near barstow when the drugs began to take hold...."

Givin the story Terry Gilliam (timebandits, monty python brazil etc..) did a great job...

I think Del toro as gonzo (as your lawyer i recomend etc..) was the show stealer of that movie..  Depp was excellent also...

Gonzo dumping beer all over his fat gut to cool off from a psychoactive peak in the middle of the desert will be burned in my mind for few years...

Gilliam does his magic once again...

and for those who dont like the movie.. I say....    NI..

aaa....NI...

aaaa....Ni....

not near as good as the book.
if you want a better film version of Hunter S. Thompson,  check out "Where The Buffalo Roam"  with Bill Muray

The elevator scene when Gonzo threatens Cameron Diaz's partner with a knife is comedy gold.

I have seen this movie many times and I always find something new. For example, the 60's flashback scene when Depp is walking through a drug bar, you can see the real Hunter sitting having a drink or something.

Yeah, I have read Where the buffalo roam just as much as FaL, and seen the movie a dozen times, too.  It really captured his sense.

the real question is:

is Christina Ricci hot in the movie?

<-- haven't taken the time to watch it yet but curious.

:D
I don't know what to put here yet.
