Too much time on my hands... (a question to the team)
« on: September 17, 1999, 04:42:00 PM »
Sorry.  Sittin here on lunch, *finally* get a chance to read through the little "presentation" at the main page.  Would one of the development team members care to expand upon this a bit:

"Bombers, attack planes, transports,
  ships, vehicles, troops, and strategic
  and tactical infrastructures all have
important roles.  Aces High seeks to
blend these elements together in a way
that doesn't lose sight of itself, thereby
augmenting and not detracting from the
experience.  Not all of these elements are
expected to be completed by the end of
the beta period, but that development
  will proceed quickly."

Please?

So this isn't going to only be about Air to Air engagements?  I mean... that's all good and stuff, but I'm more of the Jabo kinda guy.  (Well, jabo in the sense that I use my aircraft to make large holes in the ground)

Thanks in advance,

-Andy

The game is about aerial combat and that takes precedence to everything else.  There will be tanks and such in the game but they won't ever be the main focus.

Vehicles will be useful for harrassing the enemy and capturing bases.  There will be a lot more vehicle bases scattered around the terrain than airfields, so the travel distances won't be a huge factor.

But the gist of the message is that yes, we'll be putting more into this game than airplanes but our focus of the game is still aerial combat.

Cool.  Thanks, Doug.

Bah... I should probably learn how to shoot down airplanes anyway, huh?
