Because the other guy already knows you've said your lines.

That's the same reason you never see two actors speaking over each other in a movie, either.

Actually I know a couple people who dont always say goodbye on the phone.  My brother NEVER says goodbye or whatever, just click.

Not such a big deal once you get used to it and can expect it.

Many people sign off by saying "Talk to you later."

As if they weren't talking now.  As if they weren't finished with the conversation.  As if they couldn't wait to get on your perpetual calendar for endless chat.

Not American made, Hollywood made.  Everybody over here knows that Hollywood is in a completely different dimension.

I'm an American... and I always end my phone conversations with

"Add my number to your do not call list or I'm going to sue you the next time you call!!!"

That's AMERICAN!!!

All the 900 numbers people, they say good-bye!

......or do they say come again?

Cant remember
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
