Is 1Gig RAM worth it at all? Most pundits seem to suggest not (even OverclockersUK). Some Forgotten Battles buffs seem to think yes.

1800 XP
512 Crucial DDR
Geforce3 Ti500 30.82
Audigy Player
MSI K7T266A-PRO2 RU
DX9
XP HOME

I put in the extra 512 while still playing IL2 and it smoothed out the game and  stopped the pauses that where happening when new units came up.

well worth the extra $60 I paid for it.  cacheman says I rarely hit the swapfile.

Extra memory is NEVER a bad thing.
However, faster memory is even better, so if I were you I would save my money for future upgrades.

512 DDR is enough.

Yes it is a question of synergy. 512mb 2100 will be £50 and another year or so I will have a new system. Reckon I'll have a new graphics card first though.
