The more I think about it, the more I dislike it.  Who would ever want to be a Rook.  Consider refering back to the game title, "Aces High".  I would prefer to be either a ACE of Clubs, Spades, Hearts or Diamonds, than a ROOK.  I believe that almost nobody will want to be a ROOK "A crowlike bird".

You see you cant go mixing metaphores like, no one will understand you

Keep your example to Chess,

"Id rather be a queen than a rook"

ummm... did I say that outloud?

I'd rather be a hammer than a nail, oh yes I would, if I really could, I surely would.

I would rather be a forest than a tree, oh yes I would, If I only could, I surely would,

Mmmmm, MMmmmmm.

(words to a Simon and Garfunkle song that I can't remember the title too.)

As stated in another thread, I would be a Rook.  I am stubborn and hard headed.

I wouldn't be a heart or diamond.

Funny you mention that, when I first heard the choices my inclination was to be a rook. It sounds evil to me phoenetically.

Good swear words traditionally have a hard consanant at the end of the word like, salamander, c*** sucker, f**k. Expletives with soft consanants like "damn" really leave you wanting IMO. The "T" in knight isn't that bad but the accent on that word doesn't fall on the "t". For example the "T" in toejam is much better than knight since the pronunciation climbs to a crescendo once your hit the "t". Shiiiiiiiiiiiitt  see what I mean? Bishop has the same problem since the accent is on the "i" and the word fades by the time you get to "p". Think about it, name me one good swear word that ends in "p".

Words that end in "ck", "c" or "k" are definately the most dramatic by all accounts, so it's definatley a rook for me.

Heheh,

I like Bishops. The Clerics of air combat. Rook takes Knight, Bishop takes Rook. Ackpawn takes everybody. Checkmate.

was thinking about this when the terms first came out.

Bishop = Priest = Man in a dress = choir boys and love of.

Knight = Man on horse = Tin can man = heavy slow and not manouverable

Rook = castle = impregnable/ or Rook = crow = mastery of flight. (Ever seen crows dogfight? Man those slicebacks and immelmans)

Guess I'll be a rook.

OK OK, I give up.  In fact, I have started designing the "Black Rooks Squadron" homepage.

I won't be that easy in combat....

It's true though..they are extrememly rich...the Roman catholic church in the district of Cologne (Germany) for example is the richest in the world and owns roughly $ 500 million U.S.
I doubt that they own 75% of everything on the planet though...that's Bill Gates!
