The Gunners should be fined a cool 1 million £ after last weeks performance

And each player involved docked 6mths pay to go to a charity

Maybe also ban said players for 1 month with no pay (though clauses in their contracts prolly forbid this :( )

Stuff like what happened just gives more ammo for foreign states to drop on guenuine fans like a hammer when they are abroad and in line of fire so to speak

If i was head of FA i would force a very public appology from the manager too ! and a mega fine on him wouldn't hurt his bank account

:D

it was blown all out of proportion.

Yes, it was disgraceful.  But this is ridiculous.

Player with history of cheating (Ruud Van ugly bastid) gets opposition captain sent off.  Player misses penalty 5 minutes later, everyone expects all the opposition to run off and be all charming "oh tough luck ol' boy, unlucky".

Get real. its professional sport and competitive - and its not like anyone got hurt, anyone would think someone got killed the way people and press are acting.

Dont you think that tackle by lucas neill on jamie carragher was far more serious? he broke his leg, carragher out for atleast, what? 8 - 9 months? maybe even ruin his career? you dont see press and FA crying over that now do you because its not Arsenal involved.

Football/Soccer

Mind you the amount of shirt tugging/grappling/ripping and general waving n use of the top limbs it needs to be renamed Handball

I say it's time to crack down real hard on any on/and even off-pitch stuff

A: it makes a person involved think twice if a next time ever occurs
B: it may draw back more fans that left when the basic rules of football went fubar or should i say get totally ignored (i mean goalkeeprs were only allowed to use hands, Shoulder barges were bookable, Instant red for even back-chatting to a ref/linesman

You watch a match today n count the barges/pulls-grasps that dont even get a caution or freekick then say it's over proportion

Names Football if i wanted to watch shirt grabbing n shouldering i would follow rugby

Treat em harsh i say n stamp it out n make it a game of skill again not a free for all when some playing gets pissed about something :D

defiance, you ever played to a reasonable standard of football? it seems you dont know what you are talking about.

You take the passion out of the game by stamping out competitiveness between players, you will be taking the life out of football, simple as that.

Shoulder to shoulder contact is perfectly legal.  Football is a contact sport, you dont want to see it? - go watch basketball.

If the refereeing standard was not so bad players would not have to back chat to referee's because they would not be infuriated by such bad decisions.

You must be joking, you watch football from even a decade ago and the tackling/contact between players is much worse than it is today.  Nowadays you even touch another player and you get a yellow card.

They should take pts. off Arsenal for that game.

It was a ridicoulous situation at the end after Ruud missed the penalty. There is no excuse for that behaviour, Vieira, Keown,  Lauren, Parlour and Lehmann should all be sitting on the sideline for a couple of weeks.

Yo,
Played footy real good loved rugby too and hockey
Won all merits i could in swimming too and did 25mile sponsored swim also
Sports i loved and was lucky to be good at them
I can still run rings round my nephews n curl a ball left or right on target still
Was in 2 league clubs as teenager, Moms got all my trophies etc
Represented the county during senior school too in jav

Was a good alround athlete, Still hold longjump and jav records from senior school  :D  ohh and discus too

Hit mid teens and footy got back-staged as i found females ;)

Anyways back to it, It just seems there's enough shiit off the field and now it's finding its way onto the pitch more n more

What you call "competitiveness" i call fouls, Fouls=bookable or warning etc etc

Where do you think they draw the line at "competitiveness" ?? when someone gets kicked to a pulp for missing a penalty ???

Assumtion is the mother of all fubars ;)
