Glad to hear you had fun, Malleus.  Remember, everyone enjoys different things.  Dowding can make fun of you for this, and you can make fun of him for shrimping.

To each his own.

Every sunday morning, without fail, my crew would row past them on the riverbank as they practised their swordfighting.

In the U.S., rowing is mainly a female sport.  My school has only a female rowing team, there is no male counter-part.

I can honestly say, from what I saw on the video, that holds no attrtaction for me.

Maybe you could do the same thing, without costumes, and using paintball guns as weapons.

That would make it interesting.

Hey, Paintball is silly too, but I love that game.

DO you get to whack someone with the sword until they bleed?

That would be cool.

How do you know who won the swordfight?

"It's just a flesh wound!"

"I got you!"

"No you did'nt!"

LOL SunKing...  Malleus, is that the exact type of fighting you guys would do?  How the hell do you keep track of hits and stuff?

Were you able to camp at monster spawn points and exp? :D

"Wait!  I wasn't hit!  Your Holy Ethereal Sword of Nerf only crits for 49 damage!"  "Only a flesh wound!"

[edit]:  HAHA, oops I didnt read what Muck said before posting [/edit]

what?!  why would it be mainly female?  there are male rowing teams all over the place.  They even televise some competitions on ESPN 2 every once and a while.

Rowing is mainly a female sport due to some rule about men and women having equal representation in sports programs at college.  Quite a few schools have female-only rowing teams.  Have you been living under a rock the last 2 years?

Really now... Show me this rule.  it's moot anyhow... I didn't know rowing was restricted to universities.  OH thats right, it isnt.

Rowing is a women's only sport... lemme think about that....

Tell that to the Armed forces who each have a rowing team. Jesus, even the SAS rows. Every university in Britain has rowing teams, male and female.

If you're implying it's less than tough, I think you'll find rowing is one of the most intensive sports around - it's all about power endurance and technique. The whole crew getting the power down for the length of the race as efficiently as possible.

I've played alot of sports. Football, rugby - and I've never been as knackered at the end of an event as I was after a full race. Nevermind, having to do it 3-4 times in an afternoon. It isn't a sport for weaklings.
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

Dowding, "doing it" 3-4 times in an afternoon with his 5 boatmates, all pulling and thrusting in sweaty harmony, finally collapsing from sheer exhaustion, having never been so "knackered".  LOL!  :rofl

...this is probably a bad time to mention that I like tennis.  :D
