Have the same problem with my ATI card. It used to work but since the last update I get a white flashing screen when I try to go back into the game from my desktop.

What drivers are you guys running?  I am using the Cat 3.7 drivers with an 8500 card and have no alt-tab problems.  Also I am running DX8.1.

Uh,..where are you getting that version number?  Cat 3.8's are not available yet.  If that is the leaked driver, then you best rollback to 3.7's as the leaked driver had the incorrect control panel for it.

I use a radeon 9000 pro 128MB with DX9b and Catalyst 3.7 without any video problems. DO have some audio prob but have been told that this may be due to directx 9.

9600 Pro x 2 machines... no problem.

I initially had that same problem you reported with an 8500 128MB card, but updating the Catalyst drivers fixed it.

I suspect it might be some other software loaded that is causing the problem.

Make sure everything is shut down; firewalls, anti-virus programs, anything and try it.

It could also be some installed application that has some DLL loaded causing the problem.

It's not video card driver related as I am running the same driver in 2 diferent computers (Windows 2K Pro) without any alt-tab troubles and I usually have a gob of other stuff in back ground.
It might be DX9, as I am using DX8.1b.
