The Spitfire MK 8 hf  is to the spitfire as the Ta-152 is to the 109.

It has larger tail surfases and wider/longer wings.

This vertion of the spit was made to intersept high alt bombers and their escort.:D

I want this Spit.:D

Problem is you really mean the Spitfire VII, which was the ultimate high alt Spit with the pressurized cockpit, longer wings and hight alt two stage Merlin.  100 or so built.

But because the airwar moved down from essentially 42 on, it didn't find much use and post D-day they put regular wingtips on it and it could be found flying ground attack along with the other Spits.

Spitfire Mk VIII would not be perked.  Spitfire Mk XIV is useless due to its perk tag.

Check its usage compared with any other perk fighter.

I think we could use a few more spit variants. Ones with more ammo, power, and maneuverbility. Heck, we have loads of 109's, hogs, 47's, zekes, and lala's. Studies show more pilots prefer spits.

I'd love to see the performance gap between the late versions of both the Spitfire (MkIX <-> MkXIV) and 109(G-6 <-> G-10) closed. A Spitfire MkVIII or a late MkIX with a more powerful Merlin than our Mk9 has now or maybe even a MkXII vs 109G-6AS or G-14 would be nice.

And yes, the tag effectively makes the 14 a hangar queen, either the tag or the price should be dropped imho. The Spit14 isn't too far away from a 109G-10 performance wise (which neither costs perk points nor waves the "kill me" flag) to justify such a high price.

We can save the Perk Tag for a Mk24 or Spiteful :D

Just need a Clipped Spit Vb for the midwar years and a Clipped wing Spit XVIe with the Packard Merlin optimised for low alt work and the strengthened wing with the hardpoints

And what the heck, how bout a perked Spit 21 with the 4 20mm cannon? :)
