Port numbers in H2H seccion
« on: October 03, 2003, 12:23:04 AM »
Hello,

I'm running time-to-time H2H seccions on my computer. I use Windows XP that have firewall. For sucssecefull Hosting I must disable Firwall and I do not want to do it for secuirity reasons. What ports uses AH for hosting? I'd have their numbers I'd just open them in firewall and this would let me free play without disabling FireWall

Thank you for support

Ports 2000- 5000  have to be open to host in h2h

Its advisiable that you get together with someone to help you test it afterwards .. so you dont sit there for hours with no one able to get into your room.  the 0/8 players doesnt always mean the room is unable to enter.

It is advisiable that you disable XP's firewall and use a different Firewall program/or router.

Is this UDP or TCP ports or both?
Can I setup them in basic XP Firewall without entering all of them 3000?

i beleive its udp...though i set it up for both just in case

id reccomend NOT using the winxp basic firewall at all...get yourself zone alarm or a router (the d-link ones work well...and are very easy to setup for use of online games etc.)
