You have to understand what thanksgiving is about to understand why we have it before you.

It is about thanking god for harvest if I am not mistaken.
Since Canada is colder, we harvest sooner.

My thinking was that the poor canadians ran out of things to be thankful about sooner than us americans - not too far off the mark it seems..  :lol
