They won a battle, not the war. Let's see if Pedro can come up with his "A" game for the next game. A start like his last one will not get the job done if Zito has a game like his last.

ah there was obstruction ruled on the tejada play, but that doesnt rule a ball dead. gotta run that stuff out.

watching the press conference afterwards macha(sp?) didnt really debate what happened because he knew it was bad baserunning

Actually, about 1 month after the all-star break, if you followed them closely, you knew they didn't have it in them..even if they had made the playoffs, they would have been knocked out first round. Pitching is mediocre at best and lack of consistent hitting has plagued them the past two years.

Bwahahaaa. Tis a true sign of being naive and inexperienced.

I managed to survive 1967. Then came 75. But the worst was 1978. Almost didn't make it after that one.

And each year I'd start off with "This is the year!!" only to be followed in September with, "Maybe next year??!"

But 1986 did it for me. Buckner killed thier chances and with one "swell foop" my desire to be a fan. That was it. Finito! I was done. Sayonara!

Not to say you shouldn't be. It's entertaining to be on the outside looking in the nuthouse and at the inmates
