How do i find out what memory is compatable with my new system???

abit IC7-max3  intel 875p chipset
p4 2.6   I know I need dual DDR, but what I am seeing is pc2700,
pc 3200, and pc 3500.  Is it the higher the number the better the memory?  Prabaly, get what I pay for?  Are there dual ddr compatable sticks, or do I need to just get 2 ddr sticks taht are the same?

basicly, PC 2100/2700/3200 ....ect is the speed the ram will
run without Overclocking it.  your IC7max3 according to cruical
can use any of these speeds.  the minimum id get PC3200 (400mhz x 2(ddr) ) = 800 mhz.  crucial has PC 3200 for $93
might get it cheaper else where but u can beat quality of it, and id go quality over quantity in RAM anyday.  if u want 512 meg of ram get 2 256s, if u want a gig of ram, get 2 512s, the new MBs are mad to to dual channel DDR better preformance. put 1 stickin slot 1 the other in slot 3.

I am using Mushkin pc3500
it has the BH-5 chips. 2x256
And it over clocks like a mad man.

I have the same motherboard and it is made for overclocking.
So It would be a shame to not get the best ram you can.
I have always had good luck with mushkin.
They have a 2 week trail period If you dont like it send it back no questions asked for a full refund.
You have up to 2 weeks to try it out.
Pretty good deal I think.
There customer service is top notch as well.

white hawk, go to your motherboard's manufacturer web site - they should have a list of tested, compatible memory. Then, buy memory from that list.  Of course, try the less expensive on-line places to get the memory, if you buy direct from the memory manufacturer you pay too much. If you are rich, spring for the cas 2 pc3200 memory, otherwise, grab 2 sticks of cas 2.5 or 3, they will work great either way. CAS 2 is better, especially if you overclock, but cas 3 if just fine for the average person.
