If you never played it when it was released you can get it for free.  The developers have put the game on the net for free to get people interested in H&D 2.

I loved this game when it came out in '99....hoping maybe someone will want to play online with me sometime..:D

H&D here
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

H&D was a great game, one of the first WWII 1st person shooters, its great fun.  Wow I never knew it had online capability, is that something they added for this re-release?

I'm pretty sure it's always been able to play online.  Co-op is amazing.

That came out just about the same time as the AH beta came out, didn't it? Yup, the co-op was a blast. If I remember it right though, it could get pretty flaky and with just 2 other people besides yourself the net play got even flakier and would freeze up to the point of almost not being worth it. I played with the same 2 guys so the culprit could easily have been one of us. Loved that game though... when it came out I don't remember there being another like it.

At the time of it's release my friends and I had 4 computers linked up in local network. We went through the entire game in one go. If anyone died we redid the mission. I think we completed it this way in 30 hours non-stop.
Second time we did it (not non-stop), we knew all the levels and did it considerable faster.

I think it's one of the most fun games I've tried (because of the way we played), but also the one I've completed fastest for never to be used again.

I still have my CD laying around.  It was pretty buggy, but very fun nonetheless.

I always loaded up on as much equipment as possible from fallen soldiers.  Ended up having a huge surplus of assault rifles.

One of the patches hosed it up for me and I havent played since.  Any enemy with a rifle would spray an ungodly amount of ammo in ONE shot (like a shotgun on crack) and instantly kill the player.

Do they have a patch for a fresh install anywhere?

I signed up for the beta, but no response back.  Wouldnt mind firing up the original.
