Ideas for new setups
« on: October 12, 2003, 04:02:06 AM »
How about these setups:

1. Operation Anvil-Dragoon (invasion on southern France 1944). Seafires, F4F,F6F and perhaps some USAAF planes vs. mid-late war German planes.

2. Battle of Marianas. A6M5 (+ other cv planes and maybe KI-61/Ki-67 from land bases?) vs. F6F, SBD,TBF).

3. Rerun of Kuril setup (late war Russian vs. Japanese planes).

Sure ... why not. Let's all petition HT to expand CT into a dozen or so arenas so we can all play in the sandbox we like best. I bet that'll go over really well. :D

You know Shane might have a good idea here. FesterMA might be way too large for the typical numbers we have online but perhaps Baltic/Uterus/Mindanao set Knights and Bishops as flyable. Set Rooks as not flyable. The Rook bases would then be neutral country which could be captured by either side and then flown from. Could do it as a special event sort of thing perhaps 2 weeks of leaving the map up and then doing a rolling planeset. Every 3 days update the planeset to include the next year plane models. First days 1941, then 42, etc. Perhaps make it so that the latest model planes are all perked at like 5 points. Yes this means at the very end the Axis is flying 262s while the Allies are driving the Tempests/F4U-4s for everything they worth. The perk cost thing would require Skuzzy's help. Instead making them available at only certain bases could be used.

Rolling planeset is great Idea
Start with Spit1, Hurri1, and 109E
and finish with 262,Tempest, Spit14, F4U-4

Maybe to do this without perks at all, in last 3 days all sides will have their perked planes free - axis has just 1 really perked - 262 and Ta152 - not brilliant
when Allies has a lot of - Tempest, F4U-4, F4U-1C, Spit-14 etc.....

But Neutrall country?? I think better make one Big Axis vs Allies Battal and leve one country not to be captured.
Maybe - we can do this:

Bishops - USAF + RAF:
Spits, P47, Ponnies etc,

Knights - LW
all 109 190s Ju's

Rooks - VVS
all russian planes start with P40 and finish with La7

the western and eastern front on same CT!!!!!!

Maybe we can event build little terrain of Europe? From England up to Russia?

rolling planesets have been proven to not be such a good idea.

if you're gonna go the whole hog, simply have small perks on med and late war rides, increasing with lateness...

like say, 39-42 rides, free... 43 - 2 perks, 44 - 5 perks 45 - 7 perks... with the current MA perkers going for say 10-15 perks.

i'd still say enable all allied one side, all axis the other.

not that it's ever gonna be done, but...

I like that idea. However it would take away so many things for us to whine about , it could very well ring the death bell for the CT portion of this BBS.:D

Good idea Shane use all the planes and use the perk system.

for maximum attendance/nbrs, i'd time it for when pizza/big isles are up in MA.

Or you could do it when the Fester map is up in the MA, we'd be bound to get lots of disgruntled people then.
