Seems to me like Roy protected the woman.  The tiger was interested in the big hair.  Thought it was a bee hive and full of honey.

Have you seen how they feed tigers in the zoo?  They pile about 5 pounds of meat on a bowling ball.  The tiger comes out and slaps the ball across the cage, scattering the ground beef everywhere, and then eats its meal.  It has to "kill" its prey before eating it, or he won't trust it.  Only way to feed it in captivity.

Great video...Roy saved the day...and the tiger pretty much did what he's trained to...just punctured an artery carrying Roy offstage...dont know if this is "spin" or what...but the guy was quite eloquent explaining his interpetation of the events
