went for a closer look of the bailed out pilots...I think I hit the wires...my wing dropped, I was low, couldn't stabilize it and crashed.
Did this ever happen in RL?

I have an idea that would be hard to prove one way or the other as both participants likely would have died. They tend to not post memiors at that point.

I can guess that it did happen. Think of the British rocket and cable defense. The cable used wasnt that large or strong, maybe equivilent to all the tethers on a chute.

In IL2 demo, I had a chute drop on my 109s mid fuselage and it cut off the rear fuselage - the chutist however landed alive :I

Chute and the cable ballons are two different things however.
It is much stronger cable than what the chutes have and it is a more solid obstacle.

during the original Il2, I tore up a bomber pretty well (it's been awhile, don't remember the exact planes. anyway he had one engine smoking, and one engine burning. we where over water and I knew he couldn't make it anywhere, so I dropped down to hit his partner (about 1k below).

so here I am lining up on the 2nd plane and the first plane blows up over head. one chute opened near me, so I know thy where on the way out when it blew.

anyway before the gunner even start to fire I loose a wing (previosly undamaged) and start falling fairly quick.

after reveiwing the film it turns out one of the crews chute didn't open (or was ruined by the explosion) and the guy landed on my wing.

check how many kills "chutes" get in ah..........

its the same in any game except in il2 when you collide with a chute he dies as well. In ah if your planes collides with a chute the chute gets a kill.
