Interesting observation on Kadesh registraion
« on: October 13, 2003, 08:42:38 AM »
As I can see No One have still not choosed Il-28/Ar234 as his first choice. Even GVs were choosed more for first choice then Ar234

Why? It is very interesting plane to fly.... maybe not undrstood by many of playes......... There are not many players who fly Ar234 at MA too..... It is great plane to make exectly damage and exit.

artik,

I have never managed to fly the AH 234 in a threatening manner, once the rato has been used I struggle to get it to altitude, maybe I have too much fuel and or bomb load, but I find it extremely difficult to make headway.

It needs careful fuel planning.

It does work though, can be fun.

It isn't so hard to fly it when you get enoght speed - I start rolling -3x500kg+2xRato - after I get to 80-90 knots I start Rato (By the why first versions of Il-28 had Rato too) easy get to 200 knost and start climbing - not so hard at all. The point not to take formation (disabled in Kadesh).
Fuel - a lot of it you waste on climb - then - it is so fast that you have very good flight range even not having a lot of time (all is relative more time then most of fighters in AH). Basicly in Kadesh fuel burn raito 1.0 not MA like (2.5) so it has excelent flight range.
The only one hard point is aiming - it is very fast - so you have to clibrate Norden fast and good.

I once tried to calibrate the sight maybe 5 times and gave up. It seems like it's impossible to get that thing calibrated at full speed.

In later period in later conflict 1967 there were Dasolt Voutour in IAF it had Norden Bombsite...... and was very effective. Maybe need some more experience. Il-28 was level bomber too.

The 234 is one of the best aircraft available when it comes to killing 262s.

nothing comes close to upping a 234 from a field which has a gv's capping it, spawn into hanger and rato straight away, VRRrroooom off you go.

then attempt to dive bomb and when that fails straffe the m3's trying to get to town with the 20mm Butt gun.

Landed quite a few kills doing this :D
