Skuzzy.... one last time for help...
« on: October 16, 2003, 07:47:45 PM »
ok i got the MSI GeForce Ti 4600 OTW as i am typing this.

you saw my Dxdiag before and suggested i update my drivers....

as you could see from that im running a geforce MX440 right now.

do i need to do anything special before i put the new card in? (like remove the current drivers)
if so does anyone have a link to that "destroyer" thing or whatever?

next with the i 4600 i saw in your other post you recommend the
Quote
the 30.82 or 41.09 for overall stability
should i DL those from the manufactuer or nvidia website?

are there any settings for the video card you recommend changing right away? (i am assuming under "advanced properties" in the display settings under the control panel)

lastly with AH is it the video7.cfg file i delete to get rid of the old settings once the new card is in?

<<<<>>>> and TY SIR you have been soooo patient and helpful to not just me but the community i wish there was a way to re-pay it back to you!
I don't know what to put here yet.

When changing video drivers it always a good idea to purge the system of the old drivers.  ATI's de-installer is sufficient, but with NVidia you really need to use a third party cleaner to make sure the registry gets cleaned.  Others would know more about that, than I would.

As far as which drivers, most NVidia based cards are pretty generic and can use the standard Detonators from NVidia's WEB site.  If someone has an MSI card, they can comment to that.

Yes, the video7.cfg file in the AH settings folder contains your video settings and can safely be removed.

Remove the drivers before removing the video card.
