Damn, it's too bad you didn't try two years later. If you are/were a California resident, there is a fool proof way to get into Berkley, if that's your thing. Even if you're whiter than the french battle flag (just kidding France, I love you baby).
The California Community College system introduced an honors program that garunteed acceptance to any of the UCs upon completion. It wasn't particularly hard (no harder than getting A's at a UC in my experience) and it was a hell of a lot cheaper to boot.
At the end of the day those who want it, can get it. Sometimes you just have to find another road. And if you stop and complain about how unfair the system is, it will pass you by, fair or not.
Just out of curiosity, how many people in this thread besides Blackbal and I applied to a UC school since the Affirmative Action ban in 1997?
