I guess if no one was allowed to "report" anything you guys might wonder if you had free speech. Sounds like free speech is alive and well in Sweeden?

i don't know about sweden, but freedom of speech in poland is a bit of a joke. People can sue you for libel is you call them anything remotely negative, and win.
One place wrote an unappealing article about John Paul II and editor is getting prosecuted.
It's a joke really.

Oh, He was, Imight add, Infact imigration minister, when he uttered it, after the Murder of Anna Lindh, he was Forignmisnister for a short period.

Laila Freivalds is Forign minister now.

But you knew that didnīt you?

I dont belive that a Minister should utter things like this, even if they might be true. But this is not the only time that his "tounge slipped".

If he was here, he'd certainly be free to say it. Heck, you can look on these boards and see some writing essentially the same thing. Probably some Democrats in House or Senate offices have said the same thing but not publicly.

It might be in bad taste, especially if he's presently active in your government, but it's only his opinion.

He's entitled to that, I'd think.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

He'd be free to say it here, but he would most certainly pay politically. Not exactly the same as "being reported" to the authorities.

He is not entiteled to express his personal opinons Repr. a Goverment.
What he Officialy says as a minister, is official, not private.

Merely makes me think they wear their Jockeys too tight in Sweden.

So in order to tell us what he said, you had to call it the "(f word)".
Sounds kinda like they have the same Freedom of speach we have.
