I also have a low end system I am trying to test.

When I get that particular error message, it is because I chose the wrong video settings for My system, usually something not similar to my desktop.:o

Go into the AHII/settings  folder and find the file "video8.cfg"  .  Delete it and restart the game.  You should get the video setup screen on startup.  If I start with My desktop settings, I can get the game to start, and get onto an airfield.:D

For Me it is real slow, perhaps five minutes or so to get into the offline mode.  At first I thought My Computer froze and just rebooted it.  I got distracted the 2nd time and left the puter for a few minutes and when I came back, AHII was up !!! :D    I am still experimenting, but have not gotten above a 0 FPS yet.

While My FPS is 0 so far, I can move around if I am very slow with the mouse pointer, and be as precise as possible in placing it.

I hope this helps you.  :)

NOTE : DO NOT USE THE PLUS / MINUS KEYS ON CLIPBOARD TO RESIZE IT, TILL YOU GET A +1 OR BETTER FPS.  It's very hard to place the point of the curser  correctly to activate them.;)

Roscoroo!Your about a half an hour drive south of me...Have you ever been to Conway or Mount Vernon?
Anyways thx for tip.
After changing all settings to the same as my desktop it did work.
But not good enough to get above 0fps.
I sat there for like 10 minutes trying to get into the hangar.
Anyways I got Fed up like I always do.
Anyways I shut off my computer and installed my 9700pro that I have had just layin around.
The game booted like a dream, even to the tower. Thats when it got messy...I wood think a 130.8 meg card would work better then my previously used 16.
Buuuut it froze...I mean froze. Then it went all shethoused on me...Including little bars across the screen and when I moved my unseen mouse to the top of the screen a dot in the middle of the distorted bars moved.
These bars would change color with every button I pushed(kinda weird huh?thats what I thought)
So I rebooted...
I decided to check regular old ah iv grown to love and I entered the main arena.
And damned to it too it froze...dead aswell.
HA and I just entered.
Something with my radeon or with game?
Roscoroo Ill check those sites out thx again...

driver issue ... between the card swap ... perhaps check it out in the device manager also ...

hell you got the video card... a small 120-140 investment would get ya near a 2 ghz machine...

and yea ive been to mt vernon tons of times...

A 450Mhz + TNT machine is not even low-end configuration, it's something like sub-end. :)

Most computers THAT old have already died of natural causes as the hardware fails with age, dust etc. Or the most common cause of death - rage of a frustrated user. :)

LOL

In the last year I've had 2 266's a 233 & a pair of 133's reworked, tweaked, reinstalled with win 98 & eventually given away to people who can't afford a computer.

Course I knew better than to try to install AH 2 on em.

But properly cared for a computer is good for 8 to 10 years anyway.

Maybe in home use, in a typical office enviroment where workstations run more or less 24/7 the reliability drops below acceptable in 3-4 years in my experience. Not to mention that 3 years is max office use cycle anyway.

Ok I can believe it is a driver issue because I never uninstalled the drivers from my tnt(couldnt find em)
Does anyone know where I can find the drivers so I can kill them.
Thx

One of these days im gonna have an AH party at my house.. ive got the connect speed .. and 4 pc's fast enough to play AH on...

BYJS = bring your own joy stick.

About the driver/ video card swap  did you check if you have to disable the onboard video in the bios ??? and go to add remove hardware ... remove the card from there  ... then reinstall again ..

or it could be a jumper on the mb also .
