Lock ups on start
« on: December 17, 2003, 03:03:03 PM »
Never had much trouble until recently.  Seems to revolve around the message of the day thingy.

Sometimes when I start up, things are loading...then you can sense its trying to display the MOTD...and I go into a hard lock.  Reboot, drum fingers, go back in...fire it up and the MOTD appears and im set to go.

This has happened about 4 times over the last few days

Can the system recall that if we have already seen the MOTD previously, we need not be nagged  again?

Also, for the love of god, nix the stupid opening screen coming flying at you?  Is there a means to nix that?

Thank you

Just a guess and confidense factor is kind of low on success.
Check the properties of the file and make sure it's not set read-only. I'm nost sure what setting it should be.
Another possibility, try deleting it and letting AH rebuild it. Delete it when not running AH also.
I just checked, mine is listed as 'archive' and is located in the main Aces High folder.
