Furball, without a doubt South Eastern Conference football is the best around. But I am biased. I second Reschke's reccomendation of trying to get down here the next time you are in the states. Either the Iron Bowl or the Tennesee/Alabama games are the ones to see. If Reschke doesn't have room for you you are welcome at my house.

Reschke..... I assume you work for that little company in Vance?

I work for a Fire Dept. close to there. Give a call sometime.

BTW Tronski; if you ever get to this area you could drop in on a football game with me. I took my German employer to my son's game a few weeks ago and he loved it. Seeing those little kids all 8 years old or less and under 75 pounds running around was great for him. When I get to Germany next spring I get to see his son's soccer team play. So its an even trade.

Would love too....  :D

Yeah Tronski, when you go to a college football game, there is an energy and excitment that is not there at an NFL game. The bands at college games add to that too.

Was really interesting with the band and stuff, I also went to my first ever proper basketball game (was just everywhere a ball was during that trip), can't remember who Wash uni were playing, but do fondly remember the band playing, and being really impressed with the cheerleaders (athleticism of course)

Smokin: I don't work for them but am in the interview process with them. Right now I work for another German owned company down in Alabaster. I have had Twist from here drop an email about getting an Alabama Mini-Con together sometime soon. It's something we should probably do in the near future.

Sounds like something we need to put into the planning stage soon.

Good luck with the interview process in Vance. I have several friends who work for them and they really enjoy it.

Have a great day,
Robert

The funny thing is that 99.9% of Americans probably didn't even know we were playing France or even had a rugby team.

The only reason I knew was this post.

In other words...... we don't really care :)

Furball,

Why are you laughing?
Why the exclaimation mark?

I mean, this is France we're talking about here.

If anyone said that in a rugger game between the Yanks and the Frogs the Yanks would actually stand a chance of winning, then you can laugh at them.

:D  ok, ok, nuff US bashing.  The French Rugby side is a bloody good team, it's no shame to lose to a side tipped to be the next champions.  If we had a tourny and you got knocked out by Drex.....well ya wouldn't be too upset, right?

P.S.

Doesn't matter anyway cos it looks like we'll have 3 (count em, 3) British teams in the quarter finals.

England will jump all over Wales so they'll be out.  Scotland will probably be facing Australia so they'll also be knocked out.  France looks like they'll have Ireland to contend with (and the Irish side hasn't exactly been lacking in ability this year), even so I hope the French beat Ireland purely so that England can stomp all over them in the semi-finals.
