JeepinAz and I were taling and he has an idea for a deal somethng like the SAPP....38 drivers...
Thought we'd do something for the Juggers of AHII....
Anyone be up for doing something along the lines of a Jug Drivers Asso.?
We got like 5 interested ....Be informal..no squad changing or anything like that...just sharing of ideas....tactics for jugs...so on and so on...
Contact JeepinAz if interested.
He's in the TEXAS AIR CAV. Squad...Rooks I believe...he's making a list.

As Redtop stated, no changing of squads or anything, just a bunch of guys that like flying Jugs doing our thing, destroying stuff. I figure we can get together maybe a night a week or couple nights a month & all fly together. I'm not much for side switching, but to have 20+ Jugs w/ pilots who know how to use them would be pretty fun.
Lemme know, I fly rook & you can PM me there if you want in or here on the BBS.

This is true, but not my inspiration. As you S.A.P.P. guys know, it's kinda fun to mob around in huge formations of the same plane, especially one you like to fly. For me, I don't like to fly P-38's, Clerick usually leaves the seats all soiled when he debarks... eeeeeeewwwwwww

Not to mention having 10 to 20 jugs all up and about doing things would be awsome....

I haven't got around to asking Skuzzy for the forum, if you wouldn't mind doing so, it'd be much appreciated. Once we get that setup, I have a list of guys that want in. We'll discuss a name & I'm going to work on some Jugs of Doom (or whatever) artwork for us, maybe even look into building us a website if we get a big enough following.

I've come up with a few names, but most sound like ones 12yr olds would call their squad. The only one I really like is

Short & to the point.
I wanted to use something with expert in it, but that'd count me out ;)

Ok, so we've got 24 people as of so far. I haven't heard back on the Jug only forum yet, but it's being worked on. This weekend I'm going to do up some artwork for the squad. Think I've decided on Thunderbolt Elite as the squad name. If anyone has something better, lemme know & I'll consider it.

If you get too serious your group is going to lose out on the great fun that can be had in the arenas. SAPP was chosen as our name to draw a laugh from anyone who saw it....... we laugh alot when flying together and getting killed just means we get another 38 that has all the parts on it. Fun when you radio to another 38 with a con on his six and ask how many parts he's missing..... he answer just left aileron and you say ok we'll give him a few more bursts before I shoot him :O lol... or return to base and try to safely land upside down.
To have the most fun you have to forget any ideas of score or mass landings. Every once in awhile a mass landing may happen... but those are mear accidents. Some of us tend to killshoot ourselves on others as we return to base.
The basis of SAPP is for 38 enthusiast to get together to share info on historic squads and info on new 38 finds. News on work being done to make more 38s airworthy and info on pilots living and non-living. Also SAPP is for sharing of experience, training, techniques, the Dos and Don'ts.

Frenchy got me addicted during that Frenchy challange when I flew only a D25 for the tour. I wound up in the 56th after that for a few years. Husky01 was there just before I returned to the Pigs.

I don't know what the time is on going back. Once I switched from Bish to Rook I've always been there. We don't have to fly Rook I guess, I know Redtop is Nit & I'm sure a lot of other guys are from other countries too. PM me & we'll figure out which country we'll fly.... as long as I don't have to shoot down any of my Rook Brethren, aka Texas Air Cav squadies... (all the rest are Jug fodder I guess....)

Yes sount me in. It's been a couple years, but there was a longtime player who used to deal death in a Jug. Was it Mystic? Phantom? Noo but something like that - he was really good.

I almost always fly Jugs, with few exceptions as I like to fly the same plane & learn it. Plus my D-40 skin I made is dead sexy...

I would. The P-47 is my favorite WW-ll fighter. A good friend flew them in Europe during the war. Wasnt there a few times when the USAAC loosed all their Jugs onto the enemy in concentrated attacks?

Ok, so we're still on for 2pm EST / 11am PST today. I'll try to get into orange if there is enough room but we'll stay late war if possible. Rooks is gonna be our country unless, as Caz1 stated, we get ENY'd into razorbacks. In that event, we'll go lowest numbers.

Hey all, Just wanted to say it was a good time being target practice with all of ya, I think most of us did a pretty good job of doing what we came to do on each sorty we flew. Great job on the 109's, they didn't have a chance. Splitting the group up and some of us going back to tackle the AA and the rest to go beat up a base was a bad idea, but, now we know. I believe Jeepinaz has most of our stats written down, but we should probably list them here, this time only, till we vote in the XO, to be sure everything we did together is tracked properly.
Maybe next time we will have 20 +

Only on for about 2 1/2 hours this afternoon, but we destroyed some stuff. Took a base, sank a CV & destroyed about 35 enemy a/c. Once we get completely organized I'll get us a website going to keep track of kills etc. The big thing that was made obvious to me is the need for an XO or two. Between the PMs, trying to locate everyone & keep all the JUGS informed, I barely had time to fly. So, if you want to volunteer or nominate anyone for the XO position(s), PM me.
Thanks again for all that made it. To the rest that didn't, post what time/day works for you & we'll work it so we can get even more JUGS in the air.
The other thing I noticed today was how well the P-47 works when used in squad ops. We got in a tangle with the AAs & shot down everyone of them without losing one of our ships, both in the 11 vs 8 & 5 vs 6. (With the exception of me auggering while PMing)
Also, HUGE to the AA's for making our first outing a blast. Good times guys, hope to do it again.

This will give us a place to share files, post a calendar of events, etc. I am also putting together a list of everyone's email, so when you get a chance, please email it to me (rtippin@bellsouth.net). Lets not forget that, in the 5 vs 6, they reupped and we killed them again before we ran out of gas and had to head back to base. The whole way home zoocrew was screaming on 200 for us to come back. :D

I originally didn't want to split us up, even told AATalen I didn't want to, but the AA's were being such good sports & a 109 squad vs P-47 squad was hard to resist. That and having been on for longer than I had figured we would for our first outing, I had to do it.
As far as XO goes, if Blammo is up for it, then by all means do it. I don't have all the time in the world to devote to this, although I'm trying to put in as much as I can, so I'll take all the help I can.

I have some shots on my game computer that I'll post tomorrow. Got the stomach flu today, so couldn't really do much, but I have tomorrow off & I'll be working on JUGS stuff (Stats, logo & getting the roster straightened out) so I'll have those pics up for all to drool over. I got your message & could have sworn I replied. If you didn't get it, I have you on the list & I'll be posting the most current one soon. Was sick again today & didn't get anything done for the JUGS. So, I'll do my best to get everything caught up by wednesday as I have some stuff to do tomorrow after work.
As for this weekend, I'm gonna be in the dunes riding (as long as I'm not sick again) this Friday - Sunday, so it's a no-go for me. If you guys want to meet up still, it works for me. I'll either put Dragon or Redlegs in charge & you guys can blow up some stuff :D

I had originally done it in color, but Sepia looked WAY better. That is my current skin in game revised. I'll be submitting it again soon, so hopefully that ugly one in there will be gone soon (I hate it). I also got an email back from my original one, The Trojan Warhorse which hopefully will be in game soon. That'll be my fav skin for a while although The one on our banner is pretty cool now too...
