I’ve seen better reporting from Pravda.
Will get to see the F-35 for the first time at the Airshow in Waco this weekend.
I agree. Bogdanov was an excellent and influential writer.
Boy are you in for a treat! I’ve always wanted to see one live in action.
You’ll love it! Saw it several times during the Heritage Flight Conference.
Someone suggested I leave this for Spunk to see. (I don’t read his bilge—he’s on ignore—so I have no clue what he says, but...)

Someone told me to write this:
“Not your account? That’s different from what you admitted on FlameWarriors.”
I’m almost tempted to read what he wrote.....but nah.
I can confirm speak hasn’t played since like 2016.
The best pilot to ever grace the cartoon skies breaks his silence.I didn’t see Kazaa join the chat?

Too bad the video predates 2016.
It’s good he doesn’t play any more. He can’t even beat Skyyr’s mini-me, Kruel (whom I am not particularly fond), nevermind Skyyr himself.
Spunk admitted he got destroyed on FW. I can’t post the search terms because they get filtered. Yeah, Spunk was that mad. :rofl
Just so you know...LMGTFY is supposed to be used when something is painstakingly obvious...not when you're linking some obscure thread in a random forum.
Meh late 2016/17 *shrug*
It’s been a few years for me.
But I will say if you think Kruel was better than spek that’s not true... I’ve fought both many times... I don’t feel like participating in this convo much longer.
Skyyr was the last player in this game that really truly made me take it serious... now? Nobody really challenges or seems to want to compete anymore.
You’re wrong about Kruel. He would wipe the floor with Spunk.Im telling you right now you are wrong lol.
You’re right about the rest. Heck, if you want a challenge, train me! I’m willing to learn. :salute

Well when I’m on just ask to go matchplay arena and I will
Do you know where the F35 will be displayed anytime soon in the southeastern USA? I’ve always wanted to go see that and the F22.
At our local USAFB that I do contract work for from time to time they have lots of planes on display. My favorite being the F4 Phantom. The way that thing looks in its camo pattern gives me chills when I drive by it.
If we had to vote on the sexiest jet driven plane of all time what would you guys choose? Random I know.

My Vote Would be the SR-71That was my choice as well.

In the air nice, on the ground a leaking hazard.Didn’t they have to manufacture the plane to where it would leak after landing? Or did I read something wrong. Something to do with the heat making the plane expand etc.
F-14Only if Maverick himself flew it 😉

The plane in flight would heat and expand. When at rest the fittings were loose because the plane was cool. All in the design.... on a slide rule at that.Same guy figgered up the P-38 too!

The P-38 Lightning can do a spiral dive and recover like the F-35. :DI hear that the thrust vectoring in the P38 was ahead of its time.
I hear that the thrust vectoring in the P38 was ahead of its time.
Not saying it was a good technique.
If you were a young expert fighter pilot just playing around out of sight of the base...
If the 38 got into a flat spin wouldn’t cutting 1 engine off help you recover?
If the 38 got into a flat spin wouldn’t cutting 1 engine off help you recover?Pretty sure the manual sez throttle to idle, clean up flaps, slight nose down on stick and opposite rudder.
There was a really good aviation historian who died flying a P-38 when one engine cut out on him. His name was Jeff Ethell. This was in the late 90s, always enjoyed watching him on "Wings".

Strange to as the 38 is said to fly fine on one engine. The counter rotating props even helps in this regard. Now I imagine under full power in takeoff configuration it might be a bit much to handle if you did not react quick enough.

F-14:aok DCS released their F-14...incase you didnt know. Complete with AI REO. Also recent post about their 190-a8 in the works :joystick:
He was an idiot, at least in regard to how he died. Shameful waste of a man and a machine.
I think it was their second or 3rd hop of the day. He was probably fatigued. Anyone can get behind the curve when flying a plane. Better pilots than Jeff have died flying twin engine aircraft with more safety features (think of all the F-14 pilots that have been killed).

You are probably right. I can’t understand how someone will call someone names being deceased. Jeez talk about lack of respect. I’m sure he was a good man and even better pilot. Shame it happened :salute

Fact is, he made a pilot error, exhausted fuel and died as a result. Agree. Name calling falls short.
Lack of respect, blah blah blah. I don’t have to respect anyone who kills themself through stupidity because they let their notoriety convince them they were bulletproof.
There's a big difference between not agreeing to pay respect and choosing to assassinate character. The latter is pretty much always unnecessary and only makes one look worse than what they chose to attack. Even if one cannot maintain their silence they should at least consider mitigating their noise, somewhat.
Defending one's own bad manners always makes one look refreshingly honest and whatnot.
Professionals vs amateurs.
It’s a distinct line.
Yes, by all means, if you kill yourself you’re beyond scrutiny for being a dumb arse. That makes perfect sense. Only criticize the living. /sarcasm
#Moronic
Be quiet, rookie.
Are you really attempting to claim privilege over decency due to profession? Interesting. :headscratch:
(The vast majority of professionals I've observed, served with, worked with seemed more grown up than that - just sayin'. But then - meh - internet now.)
You’re one warped dude.
If we didn’t “dance on the graves” of dead pilots like your chuckleheaded friend suggested we would still be crashing airplanes in droves.
Truth is truth. We don’t sugarcoat a screwup just because the pilot died in the process. Brutal honesty may encourage the next guy to make a better decision.

You can learn from other's errors without having to be insulting and disrespectful. Shows a lot about someone's class.Good luck.

Might be time to padlock this thread since it’s gone far beyond flyINg the F-35.
Here's the new airshow.
Did they ever get all the sensors to work on the F-35 so that the pilot could see through the aircraft via his helmet? That would be a major breakthrough if they did, and might make the plane worth it.
I think we better hope the JASDF F-35 isn't on the dock in Shanghai right now. Or in a hangar at Jianqiao Air Base!
I work on the A-10. The F-35 is supposed to replace the A-10 (at least most of it's roles), but it can't. It is simply in a different performance envelope. Not better or worse, but different and definitely worse for the 2 most important roles the A-10 plays: Close Air Support, and even more important, Combat Search and Rescue.
The F-35 is a boondoggle (go watch "The Pentagon Wars", and imagine the same thing with an airplane, and waaaayyyy more money). I work on Hill AFB, I see the F-35s flying over every day, and it's a cool plane. Fast, loud, (really loud) and a hangar queen that is almost as bad as the F-22!
Luckily, the A-10 is funded through 2032. Long live the Warthog! :D :rock
You aren't going to like this, but A-10s have a horrible friendly fire ratio. They were blowing up US Marine AAVs (full of Marines) during the Battle of Nasiriyah in Iraq. Read the book, had a classmate who was in the battle. F-35 has the optics to identify what is friend or foe.
IF they get them to work.
Friendly fire is as old as time and will continue to be, technology be darned.
B-1s hit the wrong targets. Apaches hit the wrong targets.
At least with the Joint Strike Failure the targets it can hit will be so terribly limited that collateral friendly deaths should be minimized from this platform.
B-1s still had radar bombsites at the beginning of the War on Terror. Apache friendly fire has been attributed to blatantly disregarding orders (Gulf War).

Careful as the guy you are arguing with knows it all.
Not one has said they know it all or even hinted that they did. Your post are just silly.

Get off my ankle shuff
The only reason anyone would be holding your ankle is to keep you from going off the cliff.
