Title: Stick market value
Post by: Slash27 on August 11, 2013, 08:59:43 AM
I'd like a concensus on the value of Microsoft Sidewinder force feedback and a non force feedback. I've both on a shelf I'd like to unload. I assume the non ffb isn't worth much.

Thanks :salute

fair market value and what people are willing to pay are two different things as we have limited number of buyers here.  a couple of years ago I sold some items at a price that was less than what I thought would be a fair price.  but it was more than the lowest price I was willing to accept.  I was happy and he was happy.

go ebay and look at the prices, the MS sticks with the red trigger  were a hot product at one time.
Maybe still are?

Ebay will give you idea of what they are worth.

Yeah, I saw them from $20-$150. I was going to sell it here and just want to make sure I was asking a fair price.

I got a mint FFB2 for 25 quid also. Now becoming the base unit for my new homemade stick.  :rock

I see Sidewinders of all different sorts at thrift stores from 5 to 8 bucks anytime I stop by. Believe I sent a couple to a Euro player a few years back.

That's interesting. PM what you're doing whenever you have a spare moment.

Did you sell that FFB stick?  And are there any issues with any of the buttons, particularly the hat switch and trigger?

I have about 5 here in various states of too-lazy-to-repair/solder stuff.  It's the only stick I'll use tbh and lack of a functional one has kind of kept me away, being lazy and all...

If it's a MS FF stick with a red trigger, you may get more money selling the parts from it.  Don't know why but it seems parts for that MS FF revision are hard to come by and in demand.  My guess as guts for motion simulators.

Still have it. No red trigger though, however I have access to some paint. :D

What is with the red trigger, is it a specific version that came with a red trigger?
