All of the actual photos of the plane I can find are in black and white and the angle is wrong. I did find several photos of plastic model box cover art of this plane. In those the bottom front of the windscreen is the same medium metallic blue as the rest of the blue on the plane. (Virginia Maries bikini is the same metallic blue.) The same is true for photos of a Franklin Mint collectible of the plane. I know this is not actual photo evidence of the color scheme that you are looking for the actual plane but it is all I have found so far. :headscratch:

There is only two pictures I have found showing the blue nose and so forth both are in Greebo’s Mama’s boy thread. One shows the Margaret name and the other shows the all blue sun glare panel. All the other photos i have found you have now and all are prior to painting blue like the one in this thread. I am overseas at the moment so I limited to helping you at present.

Thanks fellas, no worries. I'm going with the blue for now. Gawd, the canopy frames in this Specular Map are a nightmare. Took me several hours to find the frames and then some pixels apply in three spots--one of them entirely wrong.

Looking really good Vraciu, AH's P-38 pilots must think its Christmas come early.....

Thanks for the correction. It should be a straight line, right?
The nose is the hardest part of this airplane with all the stretching. Drives me crazy. :bhead
I also posted the same image twice by mistake. :bhead :bhead

Thanks, G. Still a long way to go, but it will get there. Your tutorial was a great motivator--and a big help.
Lots of things left to do on it. I learned some tough lessons making Mustangs that I (so far) haven't repeated. Your layer organization tips, particularly with panel lines, are PURE gold.

Thanks. You were right about trying something new. Lessons learned carried over and it has really helped my skill set to tackle a different shape.

These are for you, bruh. :) Still a few things left to do, but it's getting there. (I forgot to move the lettering shadows down a pixel. I’ll fix that later.)

Look st the profile in one of the links. That is what it looked like when it was painted blue on anti glare panels. Right now you have all the shapes of a standard factory paint job that would be standard olive drab.

Gotcha. It's a real bear to get right on the shape. The nose bends at a sharp angle so the only way to make it straighter is to trick it by painting it as an angle then feathering it flat again. Thankfully the lettering hides the effect so it isn't as noticeable.
I appreciate the feedback, bro.

Are the fuel caps trimmed in red? I don't know what to do about all the stenciling...
