Below is a list of AHWiki pages that need content added. But before getting to that, I'd like to clear up a few points of confusion and concerns about the wiki.
- Any registered bbs user can participate-with your same bbs info, anyone can log in to AHWiki and edit existing pages or create new ones.
- Your edits are never "lost"-Every page has a history tab, and from there past versions of that page can be viewed, copied from to add to the current version, or if needed "rolled back" to a previous version of the page. You can also compare selected versions to see what changes have been made.
- With that point in mind, Be courteous to other editors. On the page edit form, there is a field for comments, where you can post notes on your edit that can range from "fixed typo", to "replaced content copied from another site with better referenced material". Every page also has a discussion tab where you can chat back and forth with other editors especially if your edits might conflict with each other. Every user, also has their own talk page if you need to discuss a topic with them.
- There are no "editors-in-chief" for the AHWiki- There are Admins (http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/AHWiki:Administrators) who serve at the pleasure of HTC that can enforce established policies (http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/AHWiki:Policies), but their primary purpose is to help maintain a healthy wiki.
- Everything is logged-As noted, there are history tabs for every page. There are also contribution lists that can be looked up for any user. There is no reason for 1st and 2nd hand stories of alleged mysteries and disappearing content. The wiki system is transparent, and as mentioned, the tools to communicate with other editors are readily available if there are questions.
The following help page has been added to help new editors get started with in game aircraft pages
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Help:New_aircraft#Adding_content_to_the_new_page
Pages set up that have little or no content as of the time of this posting:
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/P-40F
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/P-40N
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Ju_87G-2
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/B-29
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Mosquito_Mk_XVI
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/G4M1
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Sea_Hurricane_Mk_I
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/A6M3
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/He_111H
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Ki-43-II
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/M-16
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/LVT(A)4
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/M-8
http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/P-47M
Additionally there are vehicles missing from http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Vehicles_of_Aces_High_II that do not have pages started yet.
This is by no means a complete list, as there are a number of aircraft and vehicle pages that need sections of info filled in. These are simply the pages that need attention the most at the time of this post. If your favored ride is one of these, feel free to give wiki editing a try. The AHWiki contents are only as good as the efforts at contributions make them.
The AHWiki exist primarily for both game and historical info but can branch out in a number of related topics. If you feel a page should be updated or created as a resource, you are free to do so.

Thx Murdr,
Now that this is posted all those nagging question are answered!
I hope this clears things up for everyone.

I have several left to go, but I have added free-use or expired copyright images to most of the aircraft pages that were missing them.
-
Okay, it was apparently a lot more than several, but every single aircraft has an image now, and I believe I filled in the placard info for each one as well though I need to double check that.
I grabbed all of the images from Wiki Commons, and the license/copyright waivers are in the description of each file.

Twas hoping game screenshots would be used for that:

There is a section for in-game shots for each aircraft as well, I haven't even begun to try tackling that... though some like the B-17 and B-26 already have them.

What tunnelrat said. Pages have 2 sections, historical and game. Screenshot contributions are still needed for many aircraft and vehicles for the game sections.

While pages have 2 sections, historical and game, there's no mandate to have pages depict historical and game pictures (though many do). Honestly, game screenshots avoid the
hassle of having to make sure there is no copyright infringement (even though there should be more than one example available that fit the bill). One less step.
A screenshot also promotes the game (if it's a good one). Never-the-less, the link I provided offers all the plane and vehicle screenshots either of you should
desire (sans the two latest editions which I'll be adding to my own 'planes of AHII' info pages, shortly). Thanks for the updating effort. I needed game summaries
and charts, as well. :)
And yes, I'll be adding historical pics and information to each of my pages, as well.

Agreed Arlo. However, HiTech and Pyro's thoughts were taken into consideration with setting up the layout of the in game aircraft pages. They wished those types of pages to have content about both the historical aircraft, and the aircraft as it applies specifically to Aces High. That way the page could be a useful resource to anyone who happened to find there way to via search engine or other external source. So the result with content in all the page sections is something like this (http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Bf_109G-14).

I'm familiar but thanks. :) I'm experimenting a bit with mine. More game graphic content. The plane or vehicle (or boat) will be depicted and
described in detail as it relates to the game, first, and will most assuredly have historical content backing it up. The current design of my site
should reflect multimedia content with tons of historical merit (though primarily focused on VF-17, of course). :salute

Please fix the copyright violations you created, images licensed under CC-BY or CC-BY-SA license require you to name the author and state the source. Example: http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/File:P-40F.jpg - just a license statement but no source, no author (originates from Flickr, Commons is a secondary source). Other (PD) license type at least require stating the source.

Can we keep this on topic? I'm quite certain, this could have been communicated outside of a pinned thread. But since it was brought up, this illustrates the advantages of using period images, as they (except in rare instances) should be expired to the public domain.

If a photograph is used, I agree. Screen shots don't have this problem.

P-40B ... P-40C? Guess the P-40B page can be used for the P-40C?
-
Would be nice to get the service dates for each unit listed on their wiki page.

:aok Indeed it would. I'd be happy to edit the Aircraft of WWII infobox template to add that info if there is a desire for it? However, it would be up to interested parties to fill in the detailed info. The whole idea of the wiki system is for a community to compile far ranging, yet detailed information, that would be a daunting task for an individual or small team.
Edited: for how to go about adding such information
-
I modified the Aircraft of WWII infobox to display service dates. As noted in the template documents (http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Template:Infobox_Aircraft/doc#Example) the new lines need pasted into existing pages.

Oh wow. The game charts did have it listed as B varient, HTC must have noticed the issue because it's fixed now and says C when you have a chart generated. Page moved and corrected except for the images.
-
Thank you. :)
-
I took my first shot at this, I edited the Ki-43II Info box with my test data. Ya'll please have a lok at it and let me know if it's ok or needs to be changed.
Thanks,
Mosq

How can I set up a page for the Yak 3?

Nice!
How can I set up a page for the Yak 3?
Looks like that page was set up July 17. http://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Yak-3
-
Thanks. There's no link to it from the main page on the wiki though. I will try my hand at editing the page in the coming weeks.
-
I already added the link before I replied ;)
-
I would be interested in doing a few pages again, I did the PantherG, perhaps I can fill in some blanks for now.
-
Yak-3 page is done, at least the AH section, anyways. A lot of the information is subjective, and I take full responsibility if my judgments prove incorrect. Any comments would be appreciated.
