Title: Ride the Cobra!
Post by: Pigslilspaz on March 21, 2012, 04:46:58 AM
I just finished and uploaded a new video that I have been working on and off since the start of Fall Term. Actually finished designing it in about a month or so, the rest of the time was editing/being interrupted by college. This is also my first project using either Fraps or any edition of Sony Vegas (using Pro 11). Any comments would be welcome!

The program is not RCT. It's NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulator.

Forgot to ask, is there anyone else here that likes this kind of stuff?

Yeah man I was checking it out this morning while i was drinking my coffee, and was wondering if you designed the rollercoaster....the tracks and stuff. Pretty cool if ya did. Designing amusement park rides would be a pretty neat career. Although making sure the rides were safe and not fly off the tracks after being built would be awful stressful i'd think.

The editing was good, but I was wondering more about whether or not you designed the ride.

Created the track layout, support layout, and terrain on my own.

Also, with roller coasters, the cars would never "fly off" because the fact that there are wheels on the top, bottom, and sides of the rails, allowing you to let the ride have negative and lateral G's.

Fun fact: Before I wanted to be an Air Force pilot, I wanted to design roller coasters as a career.

One point though. You named it Cobra but it doesnt have a Cobra Roll?  :headscratch:

Well... maybe it does but the head is way too long I think?

It does have a cobra roll. It's the 2nd and 3rd inversions. I added unneeded supports between the two half-loops to make it look more like a cobra (the snake).

My personal favorite part is the how the first tilt-loop goes around the lift hill.
