Title: Custom files
Post by: jimson on October 18, 2010, 09:27:18 PM
I notice on some missions, makers have added custom work such as images that display when the curtain open etc.

How are these images uploaded into the editor?

As an event called Texture in the Briefing Room opening settings.  It must be a square .jpg
(256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024)

In the editor, right click on a side's mission name and choose Add Event->Texture, then choose on your pc where to find it.  Real easy.  Also, you must set a curtain event (or the curtain won't open) for the same time as the texture event, so they happen at the same time.

Ah, I see needs to be squared. As far as the custom work you've done to the walls of the briefing room, pilots faces etc. How do you extract those files to alter and such?

That's terrain making stuff.  You can get the .bmp for the briefing room in the skin viewer.  Select the Briefing Room then click Save Texture.  This will put the briefing room .bmp in your Skins folder.  Then you just need to build a terrain. ;)

I see, so it would have to be a custom terrain to have a custom briefing room. Interesting.
