Please explain to me how at a port or vehicle base it can be deacked and be captured and yet the flag is green? :headscratch:

Flag is tied to town.

There is no town at either port or vehicle base. So why is there a flag? :headscratch:
-
so you know which country it belongs to?

And to mark the maproom my guess

I'll go with this one...
In practice, since you can deack and get the base take, is there a reason to be concerned?

I have seen and heard a lot of confusion about this in game, with people wondering why a Vehicle-base or Port was captured when the flag wasn't white. I have also shot a number of M3s sitting by a flag at V-bases and Ports waiting for it turn white.
I wonder if the "white flag" condition shouldn't be tied to whether or not the base can be captured at that moment (regardless of type of base)? For example: a Vehicle-base flag could turn white if all auto-ack is down (meaning the base is "capturable"). It is also useful for the defenders to know if a base is capturable or not, and the flag is a more intuitive indicator than doing a .dt check for auto ack downtimes.
Just an idea. Worthy of a Wishlist post...?

All I really want this to indicate is whether the base can be captured. :x

Yea i was gonna say something like this. I cannot recall making the flag white at a port of vbase for it to be captured.

Could that be because they didn't have flags?

* Ding Ding Ding! *
Flags on the fields are new to AH3. There used to only be flags in towns.

FYI: I went ahead and started a Wishlist thread on this if any of you want to chime in there.

lol me dummy-your right-just look at make to see who owned it..
but all American bases/ports/fields in all or most wars and even now have flags.. I think they wanted game more visually correct. doesn't bother me none.
and yes they mark the map room--and you need it on the ports or you would never find it with all the TREES.

They did not turn white on those bases, ports, fields. :rock
