"Publisher brings WW1 and WW2 combat flight simulator to retail and digital download centers.
Publisher Iceberg Interactive and Texas-based HiTech Creations, developers of Aces High, the WW1 and WW2 MMO combat flight simulator, announced today that they have reached a publishing agreement. The agreement will give Iceberg Interactive exclusive retail rights in Europe and non-exclusive rights for worldwide digital downloads for the MMO combat flight sim.
With thousands of players with hundreds of planes and vehicles ranging from World War 1 to World War 2, Aces High is the premier MMO combat flight sim. The boxed version will retail for $30 and come with two months free subscription for the online service, as well as bonus content that has not yet been declared.
Iceberg Interactive CEO Erik Schreuder says, "With Aces High we have signed a really versatile multiplayer simulation game that combines hard core combat flight sim elements with ground-wars and naval battles. Every plane, ship or tank that you see, represents a gamer behind their PC, battling it out for glory. With vast amounts of user generated content, a vibrant community and regular free updates, this is an addictive game for anyone who likes intense dogfights and beyond. Combat flight sim as a genre has worked very well for us and we expect Aces High to be another ace in the hole.?
Dale Addink, CEO of HiTech Creations says, ?After years of continuous development, HiTech Creations is excited to work with Iceberg Interactive in releasing a European retail version of Aces High. We hope to attract a lot of new players to an already very active and loyal community.?"
I wonder how this is going to shake out...

But then again I wonder why anyone these days bothers with boxed versions as physical media is quickly becoming obsolete.
Who are these Iceberg people? What else have they done?
Check out the pictures that Interactive posted, looks like the 80th made their way there as well.

I wonder when the box sets will be released in Europe, it may mean a large influx of new players in the Training Arena.

It's just another distribution channel. It doesn't replace anything. You can still download it for free.

I KNEW there was a reason for the cheesy title music on startup.
Now they need to hook up with DICE and make a ridiculously good ground based fps. :D:x :x :x :x
DICE I LOVE YOU!
DICE gameplay sucks. They don't know what they're doing. They totally screwed up BFBC2 several times because they only were dealing with the console stuff and porting directly to PC. The lead programmer assumed since he owned with a G3 that it was too overpowered and nerfed it (but you see, he "owned" with it in the console with auto aim and so forth) and the end result was it suffered in the PC export.
To top it off, every successive update they have issued has nerfed or boosted guns to the point that EVERY gun of a given class is nearly identical to EVERY OTHER gun of the same class. Somebody made a gun hitting power chart by reading the actual game code, and the individuality of the game was sucked out of it until it's now a mindless arcade shoot'emup with little variety and poor gameplay.
So I'll repeat: DICE gameplay SUCKS.
Sorry, that was a bit of a side-track, lol!
Now back to the Tiger news? :bolt:
Kilo, that's not an assessment, it's a fact. They have systematically dumbed down the PC game so there is no variety to any of the weapons all the while focusing only on the xbox and ps3 ports for any balance, and not giving any real effort to the meat and potatoes: The PC gamers.
You can find many references all over the forums of several gaming communities.
DICE also has had their hand in a few other games with clunky game mechanics, mostly FPS that I have played, and the overall "look" is nice but the play (how you move, the speeds, the fluidity) is never very good.
P.S. That's why the G3 had no red dot or any add-ons until just recently. The lead programmer claimed he was owning with it on the console versions and refused to give it any because he feared it was overpowered enough. He didn't care about the PC version or the PC users at all. What a tool. All this you can independently verify.

Be careful Krusty...he's a uber lvl55 10th prestige Vet.That part right there killed your sarcastic insult.
LOL.. don't kid yourself. It was a full standalone game and even has a very developed DLC add-on (Vietnam). This was in no way shape or form a "test" game. LOL!Maybe you should go watch the Dev interviews, if you dont believe me.
I'm not even going to get into it. It's not debatable. That's the stubborn thing about facts.
...but as a Battlefield Vet,(1942,BF:V,2142,Heros,Bf2,Free2play,BF:BC1,1943,BC2:V)
You really need to put that in your sig so we can be impressed every day and not just every now and then...I stated that more as evidence to back up my claim that i know Dice and The battlefield game franchise than as a thump my chest "look at me!" remark.
Battlefield: 1943+1
FTW!

I always wondered why HTC didn't have a physical boxed version of the game.
Now, if we could do something about the Pacific theater and get Coral Sea populated ... :headscratch:Change the times to the normal tried and tested time of 3pm and I for one would be in!!!
